I have a copy of FS2002 (3 discs)
It gets to 99% loaded and then stops
I have tried many times but gets to 99% and stops
A friend of mine tried it on his computer and it works fine.
What could be wrong, any ideas ????

Hi Jim,
I experienced an almost identical problem when I first went to do a full install of FS2002 Pro. I had tried like 10 times and every time, It would get to a certain point and then quit and give me error messeges. I even tried to clean my CD ROM drive in my tower with one of those kits ( I'm not too sure I subscribe to the idea that they do any good as it is optical/digital - it either works or it doesn't) But I thought I'd try it anyway. Well, out of shear despiration, I tried to install it through an external CD ROM/Burner I have and it loaded up on the first try. I don't know whats going on here, but it's worth a try if you or a friend have an external CD ROM drive.
Also, how old is it ? MS has a 30 day money back guarentee on their software ( although you'll have to send the discs in and wait for them to send you new ones ). Mosts retailers will happily exchange title for title if you bring it back and tell them it doesn't work.
Hope this helps some and good luck to ya :)
P.S. Do you have enough space on your hard drive ? A full install takes over 2 GB of memory.
Best Regards,
Bob :-wave

I had that problem too... ended up being a defective disk. Have you installed from these disks before? If you just bought it and are having problems you might take it back and exchange it. (mine would lock up on the 2nd disk). Hope that helps.

I concur, it's probably a shot disc.
Also, try and close any other apps and system tray stuff.
The FS install swallows a lot of memory.

I had the same problem until I turned off virus protection on my computer. I would get to about 98% and then lockup. Turning off Norton solved the problem. Hope this helps!
I am going to sent it back
thanks for your advice
