Did you get a new case? It's possible that your case/power supply could not handle the demand. I have a system similar to yours, but when I bought the parts I also got a new case rated for 300 watts.

    Yes, a 300 watt powersupply!
I also took the parts, and unhooked them... and hooked them together again... im pretty sure its not connection problems.

It is pretty obvious from the smell, that you have burned out a component. Probably the power supply. Take it out and see if you can find any signs of burnt wires.

What was the component that you replaced on this build?

Could be the power supply, but if the board went bad the power supply fan would not work.
If you can try another power supply,if it still doesn't work I would venture to say the motherboard is bad.

Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg... You better pull out your checkbook before you read these instructions.

Take the whole computer apart, pay particular attention to how the heat sinks and fans are attached. I losed an Athalon 1.4 to having the heat sink on backwards :-(

Once you have the computer apart, take each piece and smell it. Yes, smell it. The damaged part will be the one that smells, and it will look damaged up close.

Contact me when ur done :)e
