I met my new FO down at the office about an hour and a half before the flight. Amy Skelton, just out of flight school, was ready to go. We went over the flight plan, and did the usual paper work. We took a look at the weather, and it was pretty darn good, considering what was happening in other parts of the country. Fog was the only issue at Kalispell, but it was a surface layer and wouldn't bother us much. The rest of the route looked great.
The passengers began showing up shortly after I did, and we extremely excited about flying aboard the "Ol Mule". The old DC3 seems to bring that out in alot of folks......
We got everything stowed, and the passengers on the plane. I had Amy give a cabin announcement, and we began our flight. Here are a couple of screenshot from the first section of the flight:
Here we are sitting on the ramp at FCA....

And here is a shot just south of Eureka. The passengers were really getting some nice scenery this morning....

We climbed to 12000 and were getting vectors for the ILS to runway 16 at Cranbrook. Amy was handling most of the flying, while I was handling the radios, and keeping on eye on things.....however, it wasn't long before I realized that I could sit and enjoy the scenery as well.
We turned final for 16, set the Ol Mule down, and taxied on in.....here are two screenies for that:

After getting the passengers unloaded, and their baggage off the plane, Amy and I took in a bit of an early lunch. Our flight back to Kalispell wasn't for a few more hours, so we decided to get a cab and go into town to try out some of the local grub.....and I must say, it is worth the cab fare to eat at Ma's Place ;)
Before long it was time to saddle up. With everything in order, we got our clearance to FCA and departed. ATC gave us vectors for the ILS runway 02 at FCA, and wound up flying us a bit south of the route I thought we would take, but it didn't bother the folks in the back, because they were getting a great view of Lake Kookanooska and some of the country side that most only see from the back of a horse. Here are a few more shots:

This is a good flight. It is easily navigated, and gives you some nice scenery to look at along the way.
Until next flight......
