I have been to Davis Monthan a.k.a 'The Boneyard' twice now... last in August.. come over from the UK on holiday.

It was not too expensive, and it was a great day out.. the tour was fabulous! The wife enjoyed it too! ;-)

The boneyard has always peaked my interest...the previous era's workhorses now sitting alone being canablaized...so it is inevitable that I am curious, stuart, what do you actually do on the tour?

We sat on a bus for about an hour. They took us all around the aircraft.. they showed us where they were re-fitting the A10s with engines etc, they showed us them chopping up B52's.. we drove around all the aircraft and we had a good description of everything- very interesting.

There must be billions of dollars worth of old aircraft down there. Surely they can do something to recycle most of it to recover a lot of taxpayers money and ease the burden on future spending!
