I felt the need to make this post directly due the the actions of a select group of others who post here. The ones I am talking about are the ones who post the beautiful screenies of gorgeously lit aircraft with busy airports as the backgrounds.
I should clarify that I am not going to complain other than to say how do you do it. What kind of alienware machine are you running that you are able to make such brilliant screenshots and not end up watching a slide show while doing it.
But Aha!!! That is the catch I suppose, what with these all being still pictures and no one ever including their fps I suppose they could be all be screenshots of slide shows.
What I propose is that everyone who is interested please reply to this post with a one of your own screenshots.
What I am looking for in order to determine whether everyone is in the same boat as me or if I need to upgrade is this.
Make a post of Chicago O'hare. Preferably during the day, keep the clouds off, I won't even go into what they do to my framerate. Try to include as much AI as possible, anything else is a go. Please post your approximate system specs, Processor, Vid card and RAM AI level and type, also be sure to leave your fps indicator on. To those who don't know, it is shift-Z.
I think this will be beneficial to a lot of people in two ways;
1: it will make us feel better about our own machines
2: it could lead us in the direction of someone who knows how to milk ever last drop of performance out of this sometimes stunning game.
I will start with me
Athlon XP 2700+
Sapphire Radeon 9700np o/c'd to 344/299
512 MB DDR 333mhz
AI = 90% (Mytraffic, Project AI and default)
Also please leave the images untouched except to resize for proper visualization.
Lets start with this and see what we can come up with.
