    Default Cardiff-London City,Dash 8 B.A.Landor

    G'day all,
18 shots for those who might be on dial up.

Here we go from Wales to my second favourite airport in FS being London City and of course in my favourite plane with one of my favourite liveries which is why so many shots.

Loading up with 2500 kilos of Welsh Rarebit and some old Budgie lps at Cardiff on an autumn mid afternoon.

All ready to go, just waiting while we switch off what we don't need and turn on what we do, what's this big red button do? :-)

A bloke up in Cardiff castle took this one of us climbing away.

Turning away for the trip east

Still turning with some lovely autumn sunshine on the surprisingly blue Severn Estuary. Blue mud methinks

On course heading towards England and the clouds, nice slow climb today, fits the mood.

    Over Blighty

Just passing over the occasional cloud and enjoying the shine on this nice aircraft.

On descent into London with the sun shining off the tower blocks of the city

Turning to line up with the runway, i've seen this bridge so many times but don't know what it's called.

This really shows the 5.5 degree glideslope well. I'm still quite high but have already caught the glideslope and am down to 3 greens on the PAPI. London City is great fun to land at but takes a fair bit of practise to get it right and not overshoot the glideslope and the runway or stall

    Looking good

About 150 feet to go and at 115 knots. Stall speed on the PSS Dash is around 110 so you have to be careful.

So close. That's Canary Wharf tower in front

Inches to go. A bit too much on the flare but i was quite cautious about slamming the front wheel down. Also the PSS Dash does like to land a bit more nose up than i've seen Dashs do in real life

As we taxi in some kind soul turns on all the lights and all of a sudden it feels like xmas:-)

Parked and unloaded at the gate. Welcome to London City, now to put the Budgie lps on the turntable, tuck in to that rarebit, and maybe a few creamy pints;-)

By the way, showing how much i like London City and the Dash 8, the link is to what i have as an A3 framed print on my study wall and boy does it look good.

    Nice shots Paul!
London City is a hard approach and normally only the captains may do it(in real)...certainly on the AVRO planes.
