Thread: FieselerStorch the PREporter!

  1. Default FieselerStorch the PREporter!

The Pilatus Porter is probably my favorite plane of all and i can't wait 'til i can afford the FSD's new Wonder.Other than that i like anything STOL capabale and probaly my second favorite the Storch is also available, Big THANK YOU for Tim "Piglet" Conrad for this outstanding plane!
..."In 1936 Gerhard Fieseler, an German acrobatic pilot, developed the Fieseler Fi-156A-1 Storch. This airplane allowed the German Army to gain access to remote areas and land on short makeshift runways. The unique high-lift wing devices and 240 hp Argus engine allowed the Fieseler Fi-156 Storch to fly at very slow speeds and land wherever the Wehrmacht was committed to battle."...

Just took off at Ambri (LSPM) at Switzerland, there is a little lake one "level above" this airfield, resupplying some campers over there...

This bird takes off realy early and climbs very well, climbed straight out and made a 180* turn at the end of the runway...

After a second 180,i had enough altitude to turn over that platou where the lake is...

The landing was a little bumpy due to the uneven surface of the lakeshore, but with a very short roll out it wasn't a problem...

After dropping off the supplies, turned around and took off again, the scenery is beautiful...

No time for gentle circle down-the game is on-soon as i cleared the ridge, i dropped the nose straight down, but lowered the flaps before, they are so huge, i never went over 110km/h on my dive...

Pulling out of the dive over the runway...

..and with the some move i eased the plane down on the pavement. Not many plane can pull this off...

If you like STOL planes, then this Storch is a must have, the plane's model is very detailed ,and the flight model is exceptional!

rgr that! The Stork has a long history in the FS world. It was one of my first add-ons for CFS2 wayyyyyyy back. It has gone through a few improvements but it is essentially the same machine. :)
I still have the Afrika Corp version...Rommel's private plane.

    Cheers,
    Rolf

That's a great plane; could land and takeoff from almost anywhere! The Germans even used it to rescue Mussolini from captivity in the Gran Sasso ;-) I'll post some of mine if you don't mind:

Just flying around I spotted one of them over Russia...

Thx for the nice comments, also nice Il-2 shots, too bad the "fight" was a little one sided.
