    Default Joystick

I have a new nforce based motherboard from MSI with 512 MB of DDR ram, 80 GB harddrive ATA 100, a GeForce3 Ti500 video card from Visiontek and Windows XP for my OS. My Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick seems to work initially, but after a while when I am playing Flight Simulator 2002 ONLY the elevator control stops responding on my joystick. I can still turn the plane from side to side and operate the tail rudder when I twist the stick, but when I push forward or pull backward on my joystick, it does not respond. Please help.

I have the same problem with the same joystick, except I lose the aileron banking control when I use Shift+Z to look at frame rates or the other stuff. I think it is just a bug, and I have to turn off Shift+zZ to fix it.

The other problem you may run into has to do with the slider not providing a full range on engine rpm's on the 737.

I couldn't fix THAT it by reloading the joystick program but I did fake out the problem by trying to install another joystick in the install program, then erasing it. Don't ask me how that works, but some file was corrupted.

I wish someone could describe how to lower the rudder sensitivity below the lowest level FS2002 sliders give you. Slight rudder control on landing is almost impossible and I have trouble keeping the plane from swerving back and forth.

I think you may have hit on something, because I never mentioned in my post about using " shift-z" key combination, but every time that the rudder problem occurred, it seemed it was when I had in fact used the " shift-z " keys to display frame rate. Thanks, I hope this fixes the problem.

Have you thoroughly check the Options\settings\assignments to see whether fs2002 set the <shift><z> to one of your axis in your joystick/yoke? Check both regular and slew.
