    Default ANA 320, Cairns-Tokyo,Narita

    G'day all,
As it was a Sunday and i had plenty of time i gave the PSS Airbus 320 on a long flight up to Tokyo. I checked the distance to see if i could make it in the 320 and i reckoned i was okay if i wasn't too heavy , so before starting the sim i changed the load config to 2 First Class passengers and no luggage or cargo at all, i reckon first class would be able to afford to buy some clothes when they got off the plane. The pics and some rabbiting on.

At the gate in Cairns at 8.30 on Sunday morning. I really like this livery, sort of retro from the time of the Godzilla movies.

Getting up to speed on the runway. The 320 doesn't exactly bolt off the line does it? Don't suppose it should, the default planes seem to hit warp speed in 100 metres

Climbing away on a beautiful morning. I monitored the first 40 minutes or so and then checked back every hour on the progress , especially with my concers about fuel with a days gardening and house painting in between times. A nice way to spend a sunday. Plus lunch at the pub :+

First cruise height of FL320. I eventually ended up at FL41 in steps as the plane got lighter and the econ cruise height rose. http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...3618e69d89.jpg

Over Guam. There is a JAL 747 just coming in to land below. I followed it in chase mode but it tried to land at about 2000 feet and then i was too far away to see it try again. http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...9b190cc458.jpg

Finally on descent. The shot makes it look a very steep drop, it wasn't

    What a beautiful graceful plane....

    On finals

I was so light by now that my managed speed was 120kts, i've never had it that low before.Still concerned about fuel, if i had to go around i'd be in trouble

I landed and stopped on the runway to view the instant replay, when i went back to the plane to taxi to the gate the engines stopped as i'd ran out of fuel! Talk about luck. I had to slew to the gate. http://www.flightsim.com/dcforum/Use...c51a8a60a9.jpg

The flight time from cold and dark in Cairns , programming the MCDU etc to slewing to the gate was 8.5 hours on the log. The distance was just under 3200 nm with 2 passengers and 100% fuel on board. The 319 should be able to make it without any problems but i was very lucky here, i shan't take the 320 this far again. lots of fun though:-)

    Welcome to Japan!

    Regards
    Paul

Nice set of shots Paul, I liked that shot over Guam especially. You're certainly getting the hang of those landings as well by the looks of it! Great stuff m8 :)
