Thread: "Blue Angels" F-18 for FS2k2Pro..

  1. Default "Blue Angels" F-18 for FS2k2Pro..

I've downloaded both versions of the Blue Angels F-18 and can get neither to work ;-(

The files are se-F18v1 and se-F18v2. Got them from the other site I believe. I tried using "Hangar Manager"..as well as following the instructions for doing the install manually. Also, I've tried doing each file "alone", to no avail.

The plane seems to load as it should i.e you can see and load it from the create a flight screen, however once you "fly now" the following message appears wanting to "send a report to FS and restart".

    Fatal Error:
    AppVer: 8.0.0.10919
    ModName: dc_concorde.ins.big.gau

The files referenced in the "details" if you click them are:
    FS2002\Fs2002dw.cfg
    FS2002\dxiag.txt

Has anyone gotten this plane to fly? I'd love to have it and the se-F18v2 version says it is for FS2002Pro.(which is what I have)

    Please advise...

    Thanks

I had the same problem. There are two gauges that apparently are not supported in FS2002. I don't remember the exact gauge names, but they are something like: CONCORD_INSxxx.gau. I went into the panel.cfg file and commented out those two gauges. Then everything worked. Unfortunately, the two gauges that were commented out are of the inertial navigation/flight director system. These gauges occupied the space immediately below the HUD. This solution will get you back to flying, but I sure would like to have FS2002 compatible gauges. Let me know if you find any suitable replacement gauges.

What FS is telling you is that you have a gauge missing. The missing gauge is the Concorde 'composite' gauge from FS2000.. What the F-18 author should have done was include that gauge in his package. Unfortunately, if you don't have FS2000 installed yer outta luck.

Thanks guys....I've got an e-mail in to the folks at vusn about a fix.. I'll keep ya posted. The thing was driving me nuts!!

Hopefully they can correct the problem soon.

Would it "break the rules" for someone to upload the needed file to the new files section?

    Thanks

Drats....Drats....and more Drats. Thanks for the link Ironstar but I'm afraid adding the condorde guage didn't help.. I got the same error message as before when trying to load the aircraft.

I sent the "error report" to FS.....and am still hopeing.

O.K. - Let me try this again. There are two gauges in the panel.cfg file that are not compatible with FS2002. One of the gauges is: dc_concorde.ins.big.gau , the other gauge is:
dc_concorde.ins.server.gau (I think, not sure of gauge spelling). Either replace these gauges with ones that are compatible with FS2002 or just comment them out in your panel.cfg file. I haven't found suitable replacement gauges, so I commented them out. After I commented them out, the blue angel F-18 add on works fine in FS2002.

    William,
Thanks ...by "comment them out", do you mean delete them?

I made a HUGE mistake last evening by downloading a "new panel for 2002Pro" ( another AC ) LOL I followed the instructions carefully...ummmmmmmmmmmm except for the "make sure you back up your original file" and had to delete and re-install my entire program. ;-(

Laffin', too many windows open at the same time I think. The bright side is I'm getting MUCH better at editing files now.
I'll give this a try...a very "careful" try..

    Thanks again for your help
