I didn't have anything to do today, so I decided to embark on a long flight on VATSIM. I left London at about 1600 zulu, and arrive in Denver by 0200 zulu. It was a long flight (more than 4000 nm), but a nice one! Practiced Oceanic reporting procedures over UNICOM, since there were many other aircraft making the crossing.
Well, here they are:

Airborne off EGLL rwy 27R, climbing to FL310 (step climb due to heavy plane & full tanks)

Still climbing at about 500 FPM (very heavy plane!), and passing a British Airways regional jet in the distance

Cruising over the open ocean at FL310 and mach .80. The FMC is managing everything, the center tank is slowly burning off, and passengers are being treated to an in-flight movie

A little before we're halfway across the Atlantic, the FMC calculates that the plane is light enough, so we initiate a climb to FL330.

Somewhere south of Greenland, we run into some lower scattered clouds

By the time we reach the Canadian shore, it's turned into an overcast layer. About 250 miles from shore, we climbed to FL350, our final cruising altitude.

Later on, the cloud layer developed some holes, and I caught my first view of Canadian soil

50 miles later, the clouds disentegrated further, and we were treated to views of the tundra, lakes, and rivers below

Northern Canada sure is barren!

The turn was too late though, so I had to re-intercept. Now I'm lining up with the runway on 3 mile final, 3 down and locked and flaps on full
