  1. Pressing the F2 key operates the reverse thrust for me (obviously by default).
  2. Yes, it's DME and also the needles in some navigation displays (for me mainly the airliners). Mind you, the basics are there in the sim, as for example in the King Air 350 I really can activate VOR1 and VOR2, showing me the needles on the compass rose in the Garmin Glass Cockpit display, and it shows also for both VOR1 and VOR2 the distance measuring. I just think a lot of essentials are not finalized yet and I really hope for more updates regarding navigation in the airliners. I believe the potential of FS2020 is great, the scenery (out of the box!) is great and all places I visited so far are easily recognizable in VFR. Walter
  3. Hi Johnclift Yes I can understand your concern about VOR-navigation in FS2020 and I have similar problems like you. I do not understand the discussion about VOR's with or without DME in this thread. I think your main question is, how the VOR-information is show (or better mostly not shown) on navigation displays in the FS2020 aircraft. I also like to do semi-automatic flight, also in airliners and not just let the autopilot follow FMS-flightplans. What I see is the following (example Airbus 320Neo, but applies partly also to other airliners): - I can enter frequencies and course in the FMS (RAD/NAV-page) for VOR1/VOR2 and ILS - I can activate VOR1/VOR2 in the glareshield (A320/B747) or a menu button on ND (B787) However, I have following on the ND: - frequency NAV1/2 is not correctly shown (only 1 digit after point, instead of 2 digit) - nowhere on the ND's you see any DME information (even if VOR does have DME) - in mode NAV you do not see any needle (VOR1/2) on the ND, in mode VOR you only see VOR1 needle with course deviation, but not VOR2 needle I know that VOR/DME info is correctly available in the sim because for example in the KingAir 350 I managed to find the Nav input and both needles show on the Garmin glass cockpit display, I think also DME is shown there (have to check again). The B747 is similar (or even same) as A320 example described above, in the B787 I did not even find a mode selector for the Nav Display, so there I cannot see any VOR/DME info on the ND. I hope I did not miss anything, but I guess the navigation display has to be improved in next update. Walter
  4. Thanks Tim for the link to this video, which helped me perfectly. I was mixed up because in your previous post you spoke about the right screen with the map, but actually it is the left screen where I should click the split button to open a map where I can find the access to the frequency selection. I never used these Garmin type displays in FSX or P3Dv4 so I guess I have to learn a lot in MSFS2020. Walter
  5. Sorry Tiger1962, I am still trying to find the frequency buttons in the King Air display system. On the left screen I can access the Nav source (FMS, NAV1, NAV2) and even the bearing buttons for NAV1 and NAV2 by clicking on the screen where the compass rose is shown. But I cannot find the freq buttons on the right screen (the one with the map as you describe it). When I touch (click) the split button in the top right corner, it's splits okay, but into a second map, so I have the map twice on the screen. However I get no access to a frequency tuning page (on the right of the two maps - after splitting - are engine parameters). What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your additional input. Walter
  6. Also after new update I cannot find where to enter NAV/ILS frequencies in the airplane. On the left screen when clicking on the compass rose the screen is split and I can enter Nav source (FMS, NAV1, NAV2, etc) and there are also buttons to enter the bearing for Nav1/2. I can even activate a DMS indication. However, I do not find any place, where to enter the frequencies for Nav1/2, ILS or ADF. Somebody mentioned that on the right screen the split button on the top right, however, when I click there the map is split into a second map, however no way to reach any radio tuning. Please help!
  7. I noticed that it is possible to reduce the pan rate in the camera section (tools bar on top) once a flight is started. This I have to do because the standard pan rate of 50% is much too high for me. Does anybody know whether this can be done in the basic options, so it would not be necessary to reduce the pan rate each time when starting a new flight, which is annoying. In this connection: Is it not possible to change aircraft and starting location without going back to the main menu? Thanks guys
  8. Yes thanks for the link regarding upgrading of B787. However, still no ideas regarding the general avionics/Nav problems for most airplanes in FS2020? Could the incorrect showing of the frequencies and missing DME information on the ND's come from a fonts problem, I mean, can I change fonts somewhere?
  9. Hi I have similar problems with radios/avonics on various planes in FS2020. However, in the B787 it is possible to enter the frequencies of NAV1/2 and ILS and also course in the FMS. You have to open there the NAV/RAD page (button left down) and then you can enter the freq/course with the num pad on the left and transfer the values with the line keys into the corresponding line in the FMS. From here the problems start because in the NAV display it is difficult to find the selected Nav and this applies not only to the B787 but also to other planes. I specially tried the Airbus A320Neo. The frequencies are shown in the ND only with 1 digit after the comma. Even if I select Nav1 and Nav2 in the glareshield, the needles are not shown in ND. Only if I deselect FMS I see at least the needle onf Nav1, but no pointing needle of Nav2. Additionally I have never seen any DMS information displayed on any of the planes, which is actually very disturbing. I am trying to search for more solutions on various planes but I am afraid the whole avionics/nav part is not completely implemented.
  10. I have the same problem. Cannot find the place were to input NAV frequencies in the King Air. When I click on the split button in top corner of the right screen it just opens a second map on the left side, but I do not see any "select" page (I have 2 maps and on the right engine parameters). When I click split again it just goes back to one map. Any ideas?
  11. Wow, thanks for your reply. I was aware that FS2020 is work in progress and in general I am very happy with the simulator (out of the box), especially the VFR flying all over the world is amazing. I can recognize most areas that I know well in detail in many parts of the world. However, this NAV-issue is really basic. I found now at least a way in the Airbus to activate NAVs manually but not in the FMS NAV-page and the information on the ND is not complete (no DME, only needle of VOR1). Also in the King Air I found no way to transferr the NAV's VOR1/2/ILS to the ND (instead of FMS indicator).
  12. Strange that nobody seems to have the same problem. Do you all see the VOR/ILS needles and the DME reading in the A320Neo, the B787 and B747-8? Where do you select the NAV frequencies, not in the FMS? Thanks for any input
  13. Hi I can activate the NAV-Aids in most aircraft, however not (correctly) in the 3 airliners. I can input the fequencies in the FMS and activate the VORs 1 and 2 on the glareshield. It shows in ND the frequenies (only 1 digit after the point). However, I see no DME and also partly no needle and I cannot see any ILS indication even if I select ILS. Is something wrong here? Never had any problems in FSX or P3Dv4.5 with selecting VOR's/ILS. Walter
