  1. I would like to add the missing "elevated" passenger tram that goes between the main terminals at KMCO/FSX, but I'm not sure how to do this. Is there a example on how to create this and what is a good freeware program to use? Also, what about the "tram" itself? Thanks for your help. Scott
  2. Changing SOUND_LOD=1 worked!! :):):) Can you explain to me why and how it works? I don't really know what this parameter is or does? Thanks again for all your help and suggestions! You guys are great! Scott
  3. Ok, let me try to answer all your questions.. The "whooshing" sound is there even when I "fly". It is even there when In instant replay "tower" view. So the sound is constant in tower view. WAIT...WAIT...WAIT..!! I just changed SOUND_LOD=0 to "1". I think the "whooshing" sound is gone... I am still testing at different airports and aircraft. Let me test this and I will let you know. I hope this works. If changing SOUND_LOD=1 does work, can you explain to me why and how it works? I don't really know what this parameter is or does? Scott
  4. I am having a strange "sound" problem when I use Tower view in my Win10, FSX/Acceleration. Let me try to explain this... When I switch to tower view I get a strange "whooshing" sound. It almost sounds like wind, even though I have wind setting turned off. I only get this sound in tower view. Here are the details on what I have tried to fix this... The "whooshing" sound happens with ALL default and add-on planes/helicopters when viewed from the tower. The "whooshing" sound happens at ALL default and add-on airports when viewed from the tower. I have tried changing most of the games UI menu settings. No change. I have had the game create a new FSX.CFG file. No change. I have changed all sound settings in the games SOUND menu. No change. I tried changing the DEFAULT sound device in the games SOUND menu. No change. I tried deleting FSUIPC4. No change. I reinstalled FSUIPC4. No change. I tried changing the default flight. No change. I tried changing the weather to clear and NO winds. No change. I tried to change some of the ATC options. No change. My audio device is a on-board Realtek device used through my two speakers. I updated the audio/sound drivers. No change. I have the setting " Windows detects communication activity" to "Do nothing". No change. At this point, I am at a loss on where to go. I have changed setting on both the game and the sound device. Nothing works. I am at a complete loss. This baffles:( me.. So, where do I go from here? Scott.
  5. Nah... did not work. I guess I will have to use FSrealWX. Scott
  6. Ok, I found these lines online, for FSXSE... WeatherServerAddress=https:\\fsx-rnd.azureedge.net\fsxweather\ WeatherServerPort=9999 WeatherGraphDataInDialog=0 AdjustForMagVarInDialog=1 DynamicWeather=1 What I might do is to "comment" out the old FSX lines and add these from FSXSE. Scott
  7. What does your (FSXSE) "WeatherServerAddress" in the FSX.CFG say? Is it the same address as FSX? Or did they change it for FSXSE? Scott
  8. In my FSX.CFG I have this line in the Weather section: WeatherServerAddress=fs2k.zone.com Since this does not work, I wonder if it is possible to change the server address (fs2k.zone.com) to the one for FSXSE?. What is the weather server address in FSXSE? Don't know if this can be done. Scott
  9. I'm still trying to turn off the downloading of "winds". I made the changes mentioned above in my .ini file. Nothing happened when I made those values "0". I did notice this section though. Perhaps there is something here that will help.... [Wind] SurfaceWindGust=0 TurbulenceCloud=0 FSUIPCWindSmoothing=1 MaxWindShift=90 DWC=0 DWC_Always=1 DWC_Correction=0 DWC_DegPerSec=5 DWC_KtPerSec=1 What do you think? Scott
  10. Does anyone know how to disable/not download winds in FSrealWX lite? I looked at the settings, but am not sure if there is such a option. Any ideas? Scott
  11. Years ago, I used an online FSX.CFG tweaking tool (Bojote's automated FSX Tweaking & Tuning Service http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html) But it seems the site is no more. (The tweaks really improved my FSX) Since then I built a new Win 10 system with new hardware. (See specs in my sig) Is there a online FSX.CFG tweaking and tuning service that is similar to what the Bojote's site did? Scott
  12. Ok This has a successful ending! I was using an old SATA cable that was giving me the problems. I was unable to format the SSD (FSX) drive. So I bought a new SATA cable and the problems went away. The drive formatted in a half hour. I then was able to install both FSX and Acceleration with no problems at all. Windows 10 also said the WD 1TB SSD was clean with no errors. All of these problems were because of a faulty SATA cable, which is now in the trash. And they all lived happily ever after.... Scott
  13. I am installing FSX on a separate SSD drive (D:\). This is not my boot/windows drive. I think I have a bad SATA cable. I'm going to order a new SATA III cable and see if it helps any. Couldn't hurt right? Right now, every time I try to format the drive (Quick or long) the windows format always freezes up and even task manager won't stop it. I have to re-boot the system to stop/cancel the format process. I will let you know next week what happens.. Scott
  14. Well, Here are the details of the recent Windows CHKDSK. It is unable to repair the problems... It seems that Windows can't repair the drive? Scott
  15. Hey, I just remembered something that might be the problem... When I was doing the install, I remember windows gave me a message with a red "X" on it that said something about rebooting the system to run a disk check to fix errors on the "D" drive. I just clicked past it and went on with the installation. "I'll deal with it later" I said. I was to busy trying to do the install to worry about it. Well, now is the time to worry about it. I'm thinking the SSD drive has errors and those sector errors are preventing FSX from installing the files. Let me do a chkdsk on the drive and let you know what I find. Probably a bunch of sector errors.. (On a SSD?) To be continued.. Scott
