  1. It's impressive how far technology in the simulator has come, that's for sure.
  2. Here's an early morning departure out of New York in the Boeing 737-800.
  3. A bit of action by the beach. Lining up for runway 10. And we're airborne. Gear up. An overview of the airport as we make a right turn out. Overflying the beach as we make our way in.
  4. I don't know if I can really call de-icing exclusive since more than likely most, if not all, planes would also require de-icing.
  5. So was the truck driving down the runway or was it pushed by the plane.
  6. Geez, I've been here long enough, I could have warned you that listening to him was a bad idea.
  7. I don't know if I would call it that. I just fly. People pop in if they want. Majority of the people who watch are not likely to get into it themselves.
  8. Twitch is a website that allows people to stream just about anything. I've seen people stream games, art, cooking, singing, even walking around town. I don't think a site specifically for streaming flight simulators would really solve anything since I don't think you'd have too many people watching. I personally don't watch too many peoples' flight simulator streams because aside from lack of time, most of the time, there isn't much going on anyway. Most of the people that are following my channel actually DON'T fly in the simulator, so for them, it's interesting to see what it's like to operate a plane.
  9. There you go if you really want to know. Do keep in mind, though, that I'm an over-the-road truck driver for a living, so I don't really get to stream very often. The last time I did was in April, but you can have a look at the past broadcasts and see what it's all about. https://www.twitch.tv/Captain_Kevin_
  10. I started back in 1998 myself with FS98, then eventually switched to FS2002 back in 2003. At the time, I wasn't old enough to have my own computer, so I was limited to what my dad had, and he wasn't going to spend all sorts of money for a good computer, either. Now that I've had a full-time job for five years, I've saved money to buy a new computer, which I got last year. Definitely not a cheap computer for sure, but it does everything I need it to. I have some old videos on YouTube myself, but nowadays, when I have the time, I mostly do live streams of my flights.
  11. I'm an angry New Yorker. That I'm not so sure about, though supposedly it could fly with two engines out. I have no idea how accurate that is. Last time I flew on a Boeing 747-400 was in 2004.
  12. Yesterday, I took a trip out to Atlanta to have a look at the Boeing 747-400. N661US, in particular, was the first Boeing 747-400 built and participated in Boeing's flight test certification before being delivered to Northwest. Now, let's jump on board. The nose section of the Boeing 747-400. The first time I've ever sat in a First Class seat. Go figure we're not actually flying anywhere. The first time I've ever been in the upper deck of a Boeing 747-400. If it looks like I'm out on the wing, it's because....I'm out on the wing. You really don't get a good grasp of how big the Boeing 747-400 is until....WEL....you're actually standing right next to one at ground level. I can fit right under it with room to spare. This is considering I'm 5'12". There's a look at the engine. I may have parked my MDX somewhere behind the plane. Now my MDX doesn't look so big in comparison to the big wing of this jet. The view from the flight deck. We clearly aren't going anywhere.
  13. Times have certainly changed over the years. Those of you who were on these forums around the time I joined are probably familiar with the original Air Kevin livery when the airline was started on July 30th, 2003. The following screenshot was taken some time in 2004. You may or may not have seen this screenshot before. At the time, I was running FS2002, and the graphics at the time weren't really all that great. I have no idea how, but somehow, somewhere, I recently stumbled across this screenshot once again. Fast forward to today, and I'm now running P3D V4 with the latest and greatest....or at least, it was a year ago, anyway. You can see how much better this old livery can look on a much more advanced simulator, even if the livery itself wasn't much. Okay, so maybe I don't actually use that livery anymore and only just recently painted it up just to see how it would look with the latest and greatest. This is the present livery I'm using. With the original design in 2007, there have been three minor changes to this livery to get it to where it is now.
  14. Texture for the lights is TDS738_SELFILLUMINATION.bmp.
  15. If I remember, American does not use logo lights, hence why you don't have them if the painter portrayed this accurately. As for the cabin lights, those are controlled via textures and XML codes. If you are on the ground, you've just pushed back, as soon as you set the flaps, the cabin lights go out. Once you take off and reach a certain altitude, not sure if it's 2,000 feet or 2,500 feet above the ground, the lights will come back on.
