  1. It isn't really all that hard, but, it isn't just a couple of edits either. 1) Verify that the model folder contains an FSX native model. TDSX738MAX_LEAPX1B--P2WM.mdl. If not, find it in the download. 2) Copy the model folder to desktop and rename it model.vc 3) Copy the B737_800_interior.mdl from the default 738 into model.vc 4) Edit the model.vc/model.cfg, adding the line: interior=B737_800_interior 5) Copy the TDS panel folder to desktop and rename it panel.vc 6) Open B737/panel/panel.cfg and the TDS original panel.cfg. 7) Copy the Default B737/panel/panel.cfg [VCockpit01] section. 8) In the TDS panel.vc/panel.cfg scroll to the [VCockpit01] section and paste(#7) before that. 9) You now have 2 [VCockpit01] and a [VCockpit02] sections. Scroll down and renumber them [VCockpit02] & [VCockpit03] 10) You will need textures for the VC. Copy the default 738's texture folder(no period or other extension) into the 737 MAX folder. 11) Inside of that default texture folder is texture.cfg. Copy it to the existing Texture.BOE folder. 12) The eyepoint will be wrong. In the 737 MAX aircraft.cfg replace the [Views] -> eyepoint = with eyepoint = -19.00, -1.55, 1.9 13) Still in the aircraft.cfg, change to model=vc and panel=vc You should now have the original TDS 2D panels and popups with the default 738 VC. Hey Guys...Punishment enough??!! ;) ...Don
  2. Once again...Please! Everyone, leave this thread strictly to posting crash fixes and links to them. Such as: No questions. Otherwise, I'll be compelled to lock it...Don

  5. Nick Needham's new "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" FSX Bible is available here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html As noted before: Kosta's Guide; http://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ They are both very good sources, but, Kosta's is an easier read, and may get your tweaking done sooner...Don
  6. AIFP, ADE9X, FSPS, SBuilderX, Sketchup, and a few of the 20 or so other utilities I have, keep me active when flying just isn't enough...Don
  7. When I promoted this to "Stickie" status, the intent was to provide members with quick links to various tweaking methods and guides. It has now become more of a general hardware discussion. My fault too. I think "member specific" questions should be seperate threads in the proper forums. To preserve the original intent, Locked, it is...Don
  8. With your older Pentium, the link in post #3 will be a good start. Then try the tweaks from the link in post #1. One change at a time...Don
  9. FS Panel Studio? It is a graphical editor for FS panel.cfg Use it for creating or modifying an existing panel. You can create a "New Window" with a single gauge, or multiples, that can be dragged onto a seperate monitor on one PC. I don't know if there is a way to network panels to a 2nd PC. Some type of simconnect arraingement maybe...Don
  10. I just spent some time reading the most comprehensive Software and Hardware Guide for FSX that I have seen to date. It was compiled by Paul Johnson,(Avsim) a couple of weeks ago(1-22-13), and acknowledges the following Masters of the FSX Black Art: Jesus “Bojote” Altuve, Nick "Nick N" Needham, Ryan “Tabs” Maziarz, Bill "Fr.Bill" Leaming, David "OPA" Marshal(RIP), Holger "Genius" Sandmann, Pete "FSUIPC" Dowson, Mike McCarthy, Michael "FS-GS" Greenblatt, Phil "Aces" Taylor, Srdan "Kosta" Kostic, Steve "DX10" Parsons. I'm sure you will recognise most of those names. Please respect the wishes of the author and DO NOT distribute copies. It is, as noted, a Living Document, subject to future revision...Don http://forum.avsim.net/fsx_guide.pdf
  11. Hey Don, just wanted to congratulate you on your moderator position! You deserve it, especially with how helpful you have been :D
  12. Thank You, Sir! A Link to your Guide, on the other site, and your blog, is a common addition to my tweaking and tuning replies. Definately deserves a Sticky. However, I also believe Jesus "Bojote" Altuve's Auto-Tweaker is an excellent alternative for those that are too timid to edit files...Don Jesus "Bojote" Altuve's Auto-Tweaker for FSX BTW, I'm going to leave this unlocked for specific questions regarding the Guide and Tweaking tool. If it begins to show a lot of "That didn't work" responses, out comes the lock...
  13. Yessir, an excellent guide. Thanks for posting. I'm sure it will assist many of the users here...Don As I noted in the FSX Sticky: However, I also believe Jesus "Bojote" Altuve's Auto-Tweaker is an excellent alternative for those that are too timid to edit files. Jesus "Bojote" Altuve's Auto-Tweaker for FSX Thanks for "qualifying" that... BTW, I'm going to leave this unlocked for specific questions regarding the Guide and Tweaking tool. If it begins to show a lot of "That didn't work" responses, out comes the lock...
  14. Thanks for your reply, I have the AGP version of your card and all my games play great but my FS9. I cant figure out why its stuttering so bad, I have a topic at avsim if you are interested in taking a look at it. I install my older Radeon X1950 Pro and it runs great.
