From what I understand after listening to the interview, offline mode will exist in two forms. There will be cached real world files that reside on your hard disk....files you've designated for download, and default scenery that's a part of the game's default installation. If you fly into an area where there is no pre-downloaded cached scenery, the game's default scenery will load instead. How accurate is the default scenery compared to FSX? The devs said it is accurate enough to use it for VFR.

You got that right! Any locked out content, DLC and/or subscription models and I will not hesitate to pass this one up.
