  1. Thanks Tom, yes I was thinking that too. Thats why I just drew a cube as above. I'll maybe reinstall sketchup and MCX.
  2. Hi all, I have been trying to make a model house using sketchup 8. I succeeded and exported it as a .dae. I then opened MCX and imported it and then tried to export it as an FS2004 scenery .bgl file but I get the following warnings and the file is not created. Also I cannot see the building in MCX. the texture folder is created with the textures inside. 16:05 Mdl9Writer Warning (Part Part1) Found colocated vertices within triangle 16:05 Mdl9Writer Warning ( 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) 16:05 Mdl9Writer Warning ( 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000) 16:05 Mdl9Writer Warning ( 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000). this goes on for Part 2 and Part 3. I even made a simple cube and textured it and went through the whole process and got the same results. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
  3. Still happening in Firefox today 16th Feb 24! Must be the site or all the files are affected by virus. Maybe Flightsim has been hacked? Just a thought.
  4. Thank you Bernard. Should have remembered That - Been a while since I tried doing a bit of scenery.
  5. Well to cut a long story short I eventually got EZscenery to work with FS9 and at no cost. I finally have got MAIW objects and Classic WWII buildings etc. However what I am missing are Aircraft models of that era. I have tried using Library maker but so far all the models I try it tells me are invalid and to only use FS9 or FSX models. Anyone know where I can find FS9 only WWI aircraft models, i.e. models that haven't originally been designed for 2002 or earlier, just dedicated 2004 models. OR can I use FSX static models in FS9 scenery? ? Thanks for all the replies. Very interesting. cj75s
  6. Hi folks, I have been designing WWII airfields lacking in FS9. I am r4e-creating RAF Evanton in NE Scotland in the Cromarty Firth. It had a main runway which I think was 09/27 the 27 end stuck out into the Firth. So I designed it as such and all looked good in ADE but when I tested it in FS9 I noticed I could see the wave effects under the runway still. Is there anything I can do to avoid this. I have tried using EZscenery and setting a jetty out into the sea but I can't seem to get it deep enough so as not to appear over the runway or dissapear into the sea! Any help would be appreciated as it's bugging me. Thankyou in advance cj75s
  7. I do use ADE a lot to create airfields MS omitted. How could I use military objects in ADE? Maybe I should trawl through the help files. I do have EZ Scenery for fsx and thought it should be valid for FS9 as well but it tells me I have an invalid licence although I do recall I had bought it yonks ago for FS9 before FSX came on the go. Unfortunately I have no longer got that licence. Where can I find SceneGenX? is it payware? Thanks for your replies guys.
  8. Thanks CoIR948, I think I understand you.
  9. Hi all, I am a seasoned flight simmer. From fs5 to fsx I've flown them all but have recently gone back to FS9 Flight sim 4 because I want to create a post WWII scenario which is workable on my rig, which struggles a wee bit on FSX. So I chose FS9 which works fine for me giving about 30 fps. However I find the need to use rwy12 Object Placer to fill my scenery with just ex WWII images and objects. I have found that its difficult to use Rwy12 OP with RAF buildings found on Flightsim.com. I have downloaded FS9Hangers etc and tried to create an xml file and have placed the texture (.jpg or sometimes ,bmp files) into the correct places but still the images do not show up in Rwy12 menu! how can I do this, anyone?? thank you Flightsim.com for providing this forum space. thank you all in advance of your answers. cj75s
  10. Ah right. How do you place a waypoint in ADE or do you use another tool. I have managed to place a heliport in my scenery and it comes up in FSX but I cannot see an xxAlt.bgl saved anywhere.
  11. Sorry, I have found a reference to a stub but where does ADE save this. Or is it the ad4 file. Yep got it now I think.
  12. Jorgen, Thankyou for the reply. A "stub", I'm afraid I don't understand? do I place the heliport at an altitude, that of the jet in my instance? rg
  13. HI all I read somewhere that if you wanted to create an ai flight plan in AIFP that has an ai aircraft taking off from airport A, going to point B and then returning to airport A, without landing at point B, then you have to make a heliport at point B. I did this using ADE and compiled it correctly and placed the .bgl file into an active scenery folder. then ran fsx and shut it down again to ensure it was there. I then began to use AIFP and collected my airport DATA in my active scenery folder it ignores the heliport. all other airports are there bar my heliport. How can I get AIFP to recognise my new heliport. I've even tried placing a parking area over it to no avail. Don't get me wrong I have used AIFP personnaly to a great extent and so far everything worked. This however has me stumped. Is what I read correct or is it done another way. I want this fp to represent an RAF jet flight just out for a jolly kind of thing. Thanks people in advance.
  14. Hi Cas141 As long as your new motherboard has a sata connection(assuming your drive is Sata) then it will work no problems. Even if you have the old connection IDE or PATA you could buy a PCIe card with the IDE connection on it and run it off that. Think though a PCIe card might limit the read speed but I may be wrong there. I have done this a few times but the mobo connections were IDE. However it will work with SATA as well. You might get XP telling you your windows is invalid as you will have changed lots of things. You'll just have to vist Microsoft to revalidate. Hope this helps.
  15. it worked as well as it did to begin with. Stayed connected throughout a 2 hour flight. Very impressed. Thank you all for your input and once again thank you to il88pp.
