  1. You could try this: In MSFS pick an airport as the origination and then click to view the real departures from the airport. You can then choose to base a flight plan on the route(s) used in the real flight. See what that one looks like.
  2. I tried dogdish's recommendation without success. What plane are you flying where you experience this?
  3. As you can see in my signature, I don't have a super powerful computer; however, MSFS runs well on this system with most graphics on the high setting. I'm extremely happy with the simulator. I fly a mix of GA and airliners. Had a few glitches but overall it is great. You'll love the scenery. I use my old CH products pedals, a Honeycomb Alpha controller, a Saitek throttle quadrant, and a Flight velocity trim wheel. I have some old Go Flight panels which I'v adapted to MSFS with the Poly Pot software.
  4. Have you checked that you don't have more than one control input bound to the same axis.
  5. i only have to reset the assistance settings if I've downloaded something. Do you have to reset every time you start the sim? That would be annoying.
  6. i haven't flown the FA-18; no advice there. The CJ4 will not load a flight from the world map. After loading to the CJ4. you have to modify the waypoints via the FMC to get what you want. WT states the limitation when loading flight plans on one of their sites.
  7. Sorry, I have to disagree. MFS works fine on my mid-range computer. I get an occasional stutter when starting a flight, but beyond that, I have good scenery and acceptable. Caveat, my simulator is stock other than the Working Title CJ4 amd G1000. I had to change a few control assignments but nothing I couldn't handle. My scenery is fine, and my fps a very acceptable 45 yo 60. I fly mostly ga aircraft low and slow. Nothing is overclocked.
  8. GoFlight made great hardware but I'm afraid they're done and soon to be gone. No communication or explanation from them says it all. I've been using the polypot software and have gotten my modules working as desired. There's a learning curve but it works. BTW, excellent customer support.
  9. Have you tried cleaning the registry with something like CCleaner? The free version will do the job quickly and backup the current registry. When I started, I could not finish the download either. I finally reinstalled windows and, with a clean computer, was able to install. Fortunately, the computer was new and had no other files on the hard drive.
  10. I don't think this system has enough power and ram to run msfs to any degree of satisfaction. You'll need at least 16 mb of ram and a pretty fast processor. I would be leery of a "dedicated graphics brand" graphics processor. Msfs places a heavy demand on the graphics processor. Also, MSFS is anything but light gaming.
  11. If you haven't already done so use the appropriate software to monitor you CPU and GPU at the same time. For AMD it's called Adrenaline; I don't know the proper one for Nvidia. You may find bottlenecking in your system. The processor is either too slow or too fast for the GPU, the system will start skipping frames. Or you may find either one is loafing along. In my case my CPU and GPU were loafing along and found I could put more load on the GPU and now get 50 to 60 fps. Also, after a CTD, restart the system and use the Windows event viewer to see what caused the crash. That way you reduce the chance of chasing an unknown problem with large amounts of cash.
  12. I thought I sent this but can't find it. Here is a site that evaluates the performance of various cpu and gpu combinations. Might help in your search. https://pc-builds.com/compare/
  13. You fly it. Take off and as you level off you'll see your first waypoint. As you pass the first one, the second one becomes visible and so on until the end.
