  1. I won't use it, but what a great addition. I was a GCA controller during my last tour. We had a different "patter" than the US, but it worked great when you arrived over the gate, shot up with few instruments working.
  2. I too have used FS since Bruce Artwick's Flight Simulator (1) and on Apple to start with. Going on to IBM clones FS2 and Hercules graphics. It used to be the standard by which you rated the performance of your PC. It's a no brainer for me to go for 2020. I have even signed up for the Alpha program, but I just get the progress reports so far.
  3. Exciting? Maybe. I first used FS on my Apple II, then migrated to MS with a Hercules card. Owned every version of MSFS ever since. Even tried Prepared for a while. I just replaced my HP Envy 23 which crashed the motherboard. Now I have a slower but easier Pavilion 23 with I5. I just tried the MS Trailer which was impressive, but not much of an improvement, except maybe the clouds. Xplane reckons they don't have to worry. We'll see. There's a trailer here
  4. After upgrading my PC (It's an all-in-one HP Envy 23. Has dual core AMD 3.4 with radeon graphics. 6MB memory and Windows 8) I tried all ways to install FSX, even purchasing a new Gold version. I couldn't get the windows installer to install either from the DVD or the website for demo. Tried every tech in the book. Tried X-plane 10, it worked, but couldn't get mu SaitekX-45 to work. Got prepar3d for $200it installed, but same thing, even with updated drivers, my X45 wouldn't work properly, neither would a loaned CH yoke. Now I've given up and installed FS9. It works like a charm. I always did like it over FSX anyway. Problem is I can't get add ons to install using their installers. Neither can I edit config files. Never mind, at least my Cirrus 20 works well enough to pracise with the GNS 430.
