  1. I didn't have any tricks. I just installed it and it ran fine once I got the paths established. The secret lies in setting the paths. I had more difficulty getting FSX to run but it's reasonably stable now except it crashes to desktop sometimes when I change aircraft. Still working on that.
  2. Still isn't easy it seems. Got the file and it says I need to install a diffeent NET Framework on my computer which is new and already updated. I'm not going backwards on this. Guess I'll just do without it.
  3. Thanks very much to you and Mr. Zippy! Got it and you're right. They didn't make it easy.
  4. Hi, I'm looking for this file EDITVP31.ZIP and all I can find are voice files that go with it but haven't located the base install. I've done a search for just this file but the search engine hasn't been very cooperative. Is there a link where I can just go to it? Thanks
  5. That works perfectly! I probably should have thought of that but many thanks!
  6. Hi, This is a pretty nice aircraft with a great panel but I don't want all the VC stuff and not sure how to eliminate it. This is from the 'model.cfg' file: [models] normal=OS772V2_TRENT800_VC I haven't gotten creative enough to tinker with this. If I took off the 'VC' part, would that mess it up? I just want an open view outside and all around. Thanks
  7. Hi, Just a note about this model. It flies well but the fuel consumption is over enthusiastic. In the aircraft.cfg, the more realistic scalar is 0.615 to give a range of 8,200 mi. as per the real plane. This model is artificially powered upwards with engine thrust in the 6,000 range with a thrust scalar of 1.8. It does work fine though still a bit underpowered for my tast so I use the 'airfile' manager to notch up scalar #1506 about 20 on each level except 20, 25 as it will taxi too fast. It's a good model and the other textures can be imported to this model so that you have a wide variety of A350's. It is the same model as the FSP AI aircraft with some modifications to make it user flyable.
  8. Hey thanks! I'll check this one out. My other Airbusses are doing pretty well, the models from Thomas Ruth.
  9. yes but the thrust level will not decrease. It's weird. Maybe I'll just seek out another A350-900. There doesn't seem to be too many that are designated as 'flyable' by the user.
  10. They are but these particular models, according to the description, we made flayable and the panel was contributed by Thomas Ruth. It does fly very well and behaves well, it's just this one issue I can't figure out.
  11. Hi, I'm flying the A350-900 by FSPainter/M. Yutaka and it does really great on take off and cruise but on descent, the throttle won't decrease past mach .70 with throttle not going below 40% On take off it's not issue at all but landing, it won't slow down below about. The only thing that works is shutting down the engines but that's not practical. If I start them back up, the setting goes right back up to mach .71. Manual control does not work even with throttle level set at the bottom. Am I doing something wrong here?
  12. Yes That's what I'm doing. You can customize those too I think.
  13. Did that but I guess it doesn't like FSX Steam. Whole thing shuts down. Guess I'll just stick with FSX standard weather. Thanks anyway
  14. So how does this freeware work? It shows installed but I can't tell where it is or that anything is different.
  15. I've downloaded the freeware but my antivirus didn't like it at all and said it contained malware. It supposedly 'cleaned' it so we'll see how it works.
