  1. Thanks for all the replies. Your right, I don't need 60fps. Almost all my flying is in small bush planes, in and out of smaller airports or air strips. The 10 -12 extra fps I got made a big difference, it was enough to get rid of the small amount of stuttering I had, mostly coming in to land over trees. The rendering scale brought down to 75 changed the setting to 1920 x 1108 and the amd setting did improve the sharpness. I think I'll try that and see what happens when I set the global rendering quality to high, I will probably have to turn a few setting down, but if I end up with even 5-6 more fps than I had before, I'll try to just leave it alone and enjoy it. If i can pick up a 20% better GPU and another 8 gb of ram for a reasonable price, I'll do that. I'm 72 and this is my only hobby, nothing wrong with spending some money on yourself once in awhile. Thanks Guys.
  2. i7 2700K, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050ti, 500gb ssd. Before doing anything else, I'll try your suggestion and keep the 2560 x 1440 and turn down the render scale. That's my problem setting things in MSFS, I have idea what most of those setting are or what they do.
  3. I have a newer LG 32 inch gaming monitor that has a native resolution of 2560x1440, it has a wonderful picture quality. For some reason, I thought the resolution in the MSFS settings should be set to the same 2560x1440. I have a mid grade computer and had a fairly good looking picture but the sliders had to be set in the low - medium range. Out of curiosity, I set the msfs resolution to 1920 x 1080 and picked up another 10-12 FPS. I'm going to play with turning things up. Does it matter in any way if the screen resolution and the msfs resolution are set differenty? I have a feeling it shouldn't matter, but thought I would ask.
  4. Imagine this happening with your new 6 month old car. You start it in the morning to go to work and there is a notice on the screen that your car's computer has been updated. You start driving and your stereo comes on full blast and you cannot turn it down. It starts raining and your wipers no longer work. You pull over and find out your door will not unlock and the power windows no longer work. You get towed to the dealer and are informed that they have already had over a hundred calls from people saying they are having the same problems. Every time there is a new update, it changes my full screen setting to windows view. This new update turned off the Online Functionality setting. I don't recall anything like this happening with FSX. Even with all the setbacks, I'm glad I upated to MSFS 2020.
  5. Thanks for both replies. Yes, the online functionality box was off. the marketplace is back again. I have no idea how it got turned off, but it doesn't surprise me anymore that some settings seem to change themselves, every time I download a new update, it changes from full screen to windows view. The fact that the online functionality was turned off also means that the Bing Data World Graphics and Photogrammetry were also turned off, no wonder the scenery hasn't looked that good lately. Do both Bing Data World Graphics and Photogrammetry both have to be on at the same time? Thanks so much, it's nice to have the scenery back!
  6. For about the last 10 days, when I go to start up a flight, I notice that the marketplace square is greyed out and says "Currently unavailable". Is it shut down for everyone, or is it just unavilable to me for some reason? Thanks
  7. Went well for me except that it does what it does with every update....... it turns off full screen and changes it to windows mode. No big deal, I expect it and it only take a minuet to change it back. Anyone else have this happen?
  8. Depending on the plane, clicking ALT + L will add some extra lighting on the panel. The ALT + L is what is called "Flashlight" in the MSFS2020 keyboard assignments. I wish every plane had a good adjustable panel light dial. Most of my flying is in bush planes in cloudy weather. without good panel lighting, it is sometimes impossible to see the instruments.
  9. I haven't bought it yet, but the previews say the Polish panel can be changed to English, there must be some info that comes with it that shows how to change it.
  10. The only thing I noticed after downloading this is that my screen view was changed from full screen to windows view. Set it back to full screen and all is well again.
  11. Thanks tiger Not what I wanted to hear, but nice to know. Some addon planes come with over 20 liveries, most I would rather not have. Only been using MSFS for about a month since last using FSX a few years ago. What a nice improvement, really enjoy it.
  12. I have deleted a number of liveries that came with MSFS in the content manager. I bought a plane a few days ago through the MSFS marketplace which installed the plane automatically. I wanted to delete a few liveries that came with the plane, but in the content manager it only shows that the plane is installed. Is there a way to open that planes file to delete those liveries I don't want? Thanks
  13. Thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested, but it only got more confusing. If I was trying to change something on the flightstick that came with the captains pack, it would have been easier as the flightstick comes up on the MSFS control option with every button having a number, you can just assign something to that number. The spoiler lever I'm trying to change to the propeller pitch lever does not show up on the MSFS control page. The throttle quadrant shows up, but not the two addons that are extra, they include the spoiler lever, landing gear lever, parking brake and flap lever. This whole setup is for the Airbus cockpit but says it can be set up for small planes, I did get a reply from Thrustmaster and they're response was "Yes it can be done, ask at the flightsim forums for how-to do it" It might take a reply from someone who has actually done what I would like to do with a step by step answer to how to do it. I just might end up taking the throttle assembly out and replacing it with the Logitech throttle that comes with the throttle, prop control and mixture levers, it is plug and play.
  14. I have the Thrustmaster TCA Captains pack with the addons. I have been trying to get the spoilers lever to work as the prop lever in small single engine planes. The keyboard for prop increase is CTRL + F3, prop decrease is CTRL + F2 When I move the spoiler lever in the ThrustMaster control panel, it moves what is called R-axis-Z. In the msfs 2020 / options / controls, I just get a blank trying to see how to combine those two things to get the propeller pitch to work from the ThustMaster spoiler lever. I emailed thrustmasters , hoping they could help, but have not got a reply. Any suggestions ? Thanks
  15. I have a bad hearing problem and use headphones while using MSFS2020. I had no problem hearing FSX and Assetto Corsa is loud enough, but even with the headphones turned all the way up and the volume in MSFS all the way up, it is just not that loud. Is there anything within MSFS that would bring the volume higher than what is the highest setting in MSFS? Thanks
