  1. Sorry, that does not work. Somewhere I have read that there is a registration code in MSFS2020 and when one does a reinstall, this code plays a role! It should be removed and reinstalled from and in ones pc. Since I deleted the whole folder where MSFS2020 was installed, without reckoning with this code, there was no other means than reinstall from the DVD's.... And , I've tried several times, that does not work! Jive1 - Belgium
  2. I cannot find any restore point, so I will have to reinstall the simulator. Unfortunately, I removed the program without any precautions, and now I am lost in reinstalling the program. What should I do first now? I have the original DVD's. Jive1 - Belgium
  3. Am still very satisfied with MSFS2020. Recently, however, I had a little accident that makes it urgent for me to try to correct it. When I wanted to look for something in Explorer, I probably unintentionally changed the location of a file or folder. I slipped my cursor, probably moved a folder and it ended up in the wrong place. That was on 11-8-2022. And indeed,,, from that little incident onwards, the startup of the Simulator happens very slowly. In the initial procedure, that part where it says "start game..." at the bottom right of the screen is off the hook because of the incident, and takes several minutes where before it was done in a few seconds. In the meantime I have continued to fly, new software has been installed, that is running fine, the simulator I mean, but the time it takes to start the game before the simulator actually starts, is getting longer and longer. Can anyone help me and advise what I can do to fix this error. Jive1 - Belgium
  4. When preparing a flight plan, it comes down to indicating as much correct variable data as possible that may be of interest on the planned flight, in order to make the flight run correctly, even with autopilot landing One part of the procedure is not clear to me, and up to now I have not been able to solve it: how does one perfectly match the data of the descent with the data to achieve a perfect touchdown. In other words, if for example the flight line is North-South, but at the arriving airport it appears, due to weather conditions or because suddenly other instructions are given, that the touche-down must be done in the direction East-West. How does one indicate in the flight plan to be drawn up for MSFS2020 a perfect transition in of the fall Is there a program for this or how is the flight plan drawn up there?
  5. Thank you, Steve. The problem with the videos to me is... My mother tongue is Dutch and those videos, I had already watched them on a previous recommendation, they are all in English, UK or US, it's the same. For English speaking pilots it is easy to understand and follow. For me, speaking Dutch, it is a bit more complicated, because of the different pronunciations of the speakers. If I didn't understand something because of the language or the pronunciation, which I don't really master, I have to stop and look/listen again, and especially if I'm already flying in FS2020, then it becomes even more difficult. That's why I prefer a written text, a booklet that I can open when I want to look something up. I know there is a written tutorial, but I want to know if it indeed explains all procedures from needle to thread, in order, so that basing hereupon I can start to work out my own logic, which is more like that of all previous FS-editions than what Asobo has made. So, I'm looking really for a text that I can print myself. Greetz Jive1-Belgium
  6. I have been flying MSFS since the early 90's with FS5. Each upgrade was a pleasure to use, each time it was better but not harder. Especially with the latter editions it was a pleasure to fly around the world and especially to control the planes in the cockpit. With the MSFS2020 Premium Deluxe I thought I saw a new improvement, but.... No! I've had this MSFS2020 since a few weeks after it was released, and frankly, I can't get out of it. I've tried dozens of times to restart with it, but I can't find my way around it to properly start the aircraft and otherwise operate it for a flight as was easy with all previous editions of FS. I'm looking for a way, as with FSX for example, the last previous edition, to place an aircraft somewhere on an airfield, go to it and see, perform the control around the aircraft, get in and start the engines by the book, and then further take off with the help of ATC. The same but in reverse when arriving at a destination airport. I just can't find my way around the controls, I don't understand the logic behind them, while the logic as it is in all previous editions was self-evident, there one didn't have to go searching for 'what should I do now, which switch should I turn...'. I am looking for a clear operating manual for the MSFS2020.... Can someone point me to such a manual on Internet, or better yet send me a copy of such a manual at jiv1@telenet.be in Belgium. The language is unimportant, I can translate myself to Dutch, the language I speak. Thank you in advance Jive1 - Belgium
  7. I tried everything I knew from previous Flight Simulators, I also looked up new tutprials for FS2020, but couldn't find them. -how to fully connect my Logitec Extreme 3D Pro to FS2020 - how to start C152 with a cold engine in some parking lot - how to keep the plane on the mapped out route during the flight over Japan, Can somebody give me some advice where I can find information about it? Greetings Jive1 - Belgium
  8. Hey! Steve, It's OK, I can work with the Squirrel tutorials, and I'm slightly on understanding... It seems indeed Bterre that I was thinking. Greetz Jive1 - Belgium
  9. Hey! Where can I download the first patch for FS2020? Jive1 - Belgium
  10. Hey! Steve, You are right, Squirrel's tutorials are OK. My problem however is that I'm of Dutch expression, and the english spoken explanation pf the tutotoals goes very fast, too fast for me, so I must interrupt each time and repeat when I did not well understand .... And there is no Ducth text.... And, an alternative for a manual, that is OK, but it should have been incorporated in the bunddle of FS2020, and now I will have to Pay extra for same... 11. Hey! I do it reluctantly, but I really can't resist, it's far too conspicuous.... FS2020 is in my opinion completely wrong, starting with the basic menu already, where the logic of the former Flight Simulators has disappeared, and a lot of accuracy as well. I've been flying with MSFS for a long time, starting with FS5, the transition to higher versions was always a revelation, because both the operation and the quality were improved. Here with this FS2020, as an experienced Flightsimmer I simply can't figure out how to start with that and all the features and possibilities of the Flight Simulator itself. There is no comprehensive user manual, which is really necessary for a NEW game, because the makers have now really turned it into a GAME and have moved away from the concept of SIMULATOR. I'm still trying to figure out how best to use it, or maybe I'll throw it away and go back to a previous Simulator. However, the flight results that I see and have seen on the Internet are actually very nice, when you see the planes against the background of the weather. However, few, if any, examples have been found of aircraft in the cockpit as seen by the pilot when he is flying. Even the files in the leaflets, which cannot be taken out, and in order to make adjustments - I have not tried this yet - I think it will be really difficult. The logic has also disappeared there. For example: with all PC software, the start file is an exe file or at most a com file. I don't see that here. And that is certainly the case with other files as well ... No, I am really disappointed about FS2020, so far... Jive1 - Belgium
  12. Good morning Steve and all the others, A first question is: is it not possible to start this FS2020 without having to insert that first DVD? That is very annoying if you also do other work on the PC ... Is it normal that it takes up to four minutes to get into the start menu?.... So, as you said, I first selected an aircraft by clicking once on the image of an aircraft in the top left-hand corner. That was OK. Also a departure airport. In addition, my question is whether there is a possibility to look at it in more detail, where exactly at the airport it is, what it looks like there, as with previous FS's in AFD/AFX addons?... How do I get further into the cockpit?... Greetings Jive1 - Belgium
  13. This is indeed what I see... And the only thing that I can do and understand what I do, is clicking on the globe, wait some seconds and then I can determine depart and arrival airpoprts.... Bur then i('s finished to understand what I should do inorde to handle like o, the start menu of all the previous FS"s... Why don't they ( = Microsoft ) not printed all the ex^lation in the little booklets and replace teh unnecessary thinhs which are in now.... Regards Jive1 - Belgium
  14. Hey! Steve, I read your explanation to member g7rta, and that is exactly what I get when I do what you said there. But I can't get into it from there. I thought I was getting a start screen that looks like all previous FS's, but that's not. Is there a description somewhere on the Internet of how to proceed from there? Greetings Jive1 - Belgium
  15. Hey! Good morning! I don't remember downloading and installing another software launcher after installing FS2020. I have now searched in vain to find and download that launcher, can someone tell me where I can find it? Or won't that help to correct the mistake I made? Jive1 - Belgium
