Hi guys,

Strange thing happened today. I was flying around in X-Plane and feeling slightly bored, LOL and decided to try a few manoeuvres in Carenado's C152.

One of the moves I tried was to fly inverted. Not thinking that the C152 would last that long in that position, I was shocked to see that not only did she stay in that position but her speed stayed constant as well. There was also no cut out of the fuel either.

I even had time to film a bit on my iPod as she was that easy to keep in that position, LOL.

I'm not talking 30 seconds inverted either; I'm talking 4 mins plus and probably more if I could have been bothered to stay in that position.

Very strange; but fun;)

I leave here the link to an old thread (2006) where this subject, so many times brought to life at various X-Plane forums because prop torque effects are one of the most strong characteristics of the prop models in X-Plane, is discussed and some posts are really good at giving a detailled decription of what's "going on" internally...

I have wondered myself how to explain the type of forces playing their roles when dealing with free-running turbine turboprop, and even with turbofan engines, and the thread brings a lot of interesting posts, particularly those by "barit1" and "H Peacock".

I hope you find it interesting too ;-)

G'day, I have FSX Deluxe model, enhanced with FTX Australia, I also have X plane 9.
I have tried to install Xplane but have trouble when I try to install the world apparently my no 3 disc is not recognised, looking quickly at the default for Sydney I was very disappointed to see that there was not even a resemblance of Sydney.
No opera house, no harbour bridge, not even a decent looking city scape, if any city scape at all.
FSX default Sydney at least resembles Sydney with a bridge and opera house and buildings, I don't know if I have loaded X plane properly or if I have the settings too low, but What I want to know is if I outlay the money fro X PLANE 10 will it equal FSX with FTX etc or will I need to buy heaps of extras to get a decent experience?
I have seen the video of what X plane 10 offers out of the box but am curious to know how different it is from X plane 9, is there any archival videos of what x plane 9 should look like?

I am not asking for what is best or which I should use as I know this could start WW3 , I just see such a huge difference between my x plane 9 and what is advertised for x plane 10?

Hello everyone.
I am glad to see that there is new interest / activity to update this bird.
At this point the mod that make the instruments look more like 3D / added bezels around the instruments, is covering up some of the digits on the instruments, see pics. You have position your eye level below the panel and move to the right in order to read some of the instruments.
I think the instrument panel was fine before, but the side / forward / cowl views need to be improved. The side views need to allow the wing tips to be seen from a position where the top of the cowl is also visible. It may be that the top of the windows, for side views, can be modified to allow better side views. TV

I've got a old Q6600-PC Quadcore-PC slightly overclocked to 3GHz. I think this CPU is sufficient for X-Plane.
Since I never played before on this PC I've got only a NVidia G210 graphics card in this PC. Am I right that this card is too slow for X-Plane? Which Nvidia-Card can you recommend? Is a GTX650 sufficient?

I'm new to x-plane, coming from FSX. Reason for change is going from PC to Mac. I'm having a problem with the use of the FMS. Have the x737 with the added ufmc. Can't get a flight plan into the FMS...probably because of my neophyte status with x-plane.
I went to simroutes, got a flight plan for KSEA to KSFO, downloaded the plan to x-plane, ended up in my downloads, moved file (KSEAKSFO.FMS) to the FMS folder in x-Plane, tried to import it to the UfMC with no success. Can't even open the file. Am told no flight plan. Looked at Goodway but since i have version 10 of X-Plane it is probably not comparable...anyway, I tried using the current demo with no success. At this point, I really need some guidance with the FMS. Would appreciate any advise regarding the FMS.
Thanks,
