After some early problems, the Douglas DC-10 has gone on to have a long and successful career with many airlines, and has also served in the military as a tanker and cargo hauler. Now thanks to CLS, users of FSX and FS2004 can fly all these variants of the DC-10 tri-jet. Learn more about it by reading Nigel Martin's complete review.

There have always been supplemental books to go with Flight Simulator, but most have been little more than a rehash of the online help. Microsoft Flight Simulator X For Pilots - Real World Training is different, as it is more like an actual pilot training course. This is no surprise since the two authors are both flight instructors and also have an extensive media background so they are able to explain things clearly and in an enjoyable manner. Finish the book, and you'll be an expert! Learn more by reading Andrew Herd's review.

Scenery Tech is a new company creating add-ons for FSX. Their first one offers improved landclass for all of North America. While landclass does not offer the detail of photoreal scenery this product does improve the look of a large area for a rather low cost and with no impact on performance either. In both FS2004 and FSX Microsoft has chosen to treat different parts of the world differently. Because of this, many regions are lacking in detail. But FS Global 2008 changes this by offering high resolution scenery mesh for the entire world instead of just selected portions, so no matter where you fly terrain is more accurate. It even can be shown to improve those areas where Microsoft used high detail mesh. Learn more about what FS Global can do for you by reading Andrew Herd's complete review.
