• Where in the World Feature 92

Last time Lester Reynolds sent us photos from SWA2813. While San Diego has been featured before, Lester was asking us to ID the departure city which was Seattle, WA (KSEA). Now, this brings us to an interesting dilema as several of you pointed out, while that may have been a valid flight number last autumn, that is no longer the case. We could find archives pegging that flight but currently (January) SWA2813 flies Long Beach to Las Vegas.

With this bit of info I searched additionally and couldn't (easily) find ANY FLIGHTS on any airline that were both #2813 and arriving to San Diego.... so, not really our fault, certainly not Lester's fault but just about impossible to solve. Apologies!

    Our Guessers:

    Doug Bauder
    Nick Watson
    Anthony Miller
    Ivan Tealer
    John Chen
    Joe Bowers
    Eric Ellis
    Dieter Mennecke
    Thomas Oftedal
    JWM

Feature Number 92 is from Thomas Oftedal who gives us this poem: "The Twelve Clues".

We've been to this land ...
    back in 48 bound ...
but far to the east ...
    where the diamonds ...
    were found ...

but on this snowy night ...
we are surrounded with warmth ...
the three rings of a city ...
    at home in the north.

    So what should we do?
We have hours to spare ...
a trip to the park ...
    or the spectacular square?

    Its namesake is frozen ...
    the skaters are rare ...
    and in theatres ... arenas
    and ballet ... fanfare!

So where are we my friends?
The night is still young ...
would folk dancing? ... or prancing? ...
    is that too much fun?"

Studying the poem and the screen shots, can you tell us the DESTINATION of this daily 3.5-hour flight?

I think we will have enough for 100 episodes of Where in the World; it's gotta be some kind of record! Whether or not this feature continues depends on whether or not we receive more suggested locations. It's up to you, our users as to whether or not this ten-year-old feature continues.
