    Your Wish Is My Command

By Mike McCarthy (24 January 2011)

In his Corner #54 article "A Whole Lotta Nuthin'", as part of his lament about the stagnation of the FS scene columnist Chip Barber wrote "What is, and where is, the next Big Thing?"

Well, Chip, how about a unique and novel Flight Simulator first -- an FS2004/FSX XML Bermuda Triangle gauge? For example, if the aircraft is inside the boundaries of the triangle, fuel mysteriously drains away at an unpredictable rate and the autopilot, if on, gets turned off after a random period of time.

In a perfect world all simmers would use this gauge in conjunction with Ron Jeffers' Bermuda Triangle scenery, FlightSim.Com file library BERMTRIA.ZIP which, regrettably, is for FS2004 only.

What do you say, FS Community? Is someone out there energetic enough to build this freeware product to put an end to Chip's boredom?) fated to die of terminal FS ennui?

The developer of the most creative solution to this problem will win a free trip to the Aircraft Customization Forum where he will be the subject of a showcase thread, including an interview if the developer would like this. The creation of a clever FS2004 and FSX adventure/mission pair inevitably will influence the judges. However, the decision of the judges (me) will be final.
