Phoenix Virtual Airways #1 Virtual Airline According to vaCentral
NEW YORK, New York (June 30, 2011) - In just over a year of operations, Phoenix Virtual Airways (PVA) has taken the top spot on the vaCentral virtual airline world. vaCentral is an independent web site that provides statistics for more than 180 virtual airlines. The rankings are based on flights, virtual financials and pilots.
"PVA has been growing consistently for some time now. We have been closing in on the top spot for awhile and we plan to stay at the top thanks to our community of great pilots," remarked Michael Moro, PVA CEO. Jeffrey Kobus, Exec. VP - Airline Development, added, "We have to maintain our pace so that we stay on top and lengthen our lead."
PVA is one of the first virtual airlines to find a successful niche modeling the operations of real-world airlines. The variety available to flight simulator pilots accommodates a large number of different tastes, from locations, to aircraft, to levels of realism. The basic PVA platform is relatively open, allowing pilots to change from one airline to another and fly a wide variety of different aircraft depending on their experience.
To celebrate the achievement, PVA is allowing its pilots to fly any aircraft from the fleet of 1,200 on any of the 133,000 routes between more than 2,500 destinations world wide from 2-4 July 2011.
