Good point flashpoint...I can hardly imagine the difficulty of landing a heavy shuttle with no engines...In my local newspaper (and similarly in your local newspaper aswell probably) was a nice graphic detailing the approach and landing of the shuttle in comparision to a 747. Amazing that the pilots stick the landing everytime IMO.

This is going to be a MAJOR blow to the shuttle and ISS projects.
This is a great tragedy although I am rather amazed that no one was hit my the falling pieces of Columbia that streched across 2 states !

Does anyone know if any shuttles are in the works for FS2002 ? I know the one used is a 98 version and it dosent look that good IMO...

I suggest that if you're into the space program, that you go ahead and download Orbiter Sim. www.orbitersim.com

I warn you that it is VERY realistic, but has a large following of 3rd party add-ons, including a lot of stuff for the Space Shuttle. Excellent free game, but don't get it if you don't plan on spending some time learning how to fly the different space craft.
