Ron, instead of overwriting the default model just stick the modified model in a folder called model.1
Then you just put in model=1 and it will read the model from the model.1 folder just like it does with texture sets :)
Heres an example from my Baron(my first one :-lol)

[fltsim.1]
title=Beech Baron 58 ZK-ZXT
sim=Beech_Baron_58
model=1
panel=
sound=
texture=zxt
kb_checklists=Beech_Baron_58_check
kb_reference=Beech_Baron_58_ref
atc_id=ZK-ZXT
ui_manufacturer=Beechcraft
ui_type=Baron 58
ui_variation=Red with Blue - ZK-ZXT
description=With the wonderful control harmony that is the hallmark of the Bonanza line, the Beech Baron 58 is considered a classic light twin. The Baron 58 is the spiffed-up version of a time-tested favorite, made more modern by its new Continental Special engines. The Baron combines the attractiveness of Beechcraft design with the reliability of twin engines, resulting in a gorgeous workhorse of an aircraft.

Got her, thanks!!! Wonderful weathered look gives it more realism (IMO). One question though, why is there a need for the updated .mdl file?

Thanks Dave! The modified .mdl allows us to get rid of the ugly MS N#. I guess I should have explained it in the readme but I was in hurry.:-)Hope this helps.

Ron -

Does that mean that the default Baron will have no reg number anymore?

Jeff that is correct! But as Mike so kindly pointed out in the above post you can have your cake and eat it too! I personally hate the MS N#s so I released it that way. But Mikes way gives the user the option of running either way. With his permission I will include his option in my readme from now on.:-lol
