I re-did this with my new metal textures and Angel Salazar's wing textures. I fixed a couple things that needed fixing and brightened up the colors. I toned down the chrome alpha channel so the metal textures are more apparent. I retextured the tail too.

Looking really good there Holliday.
One quick thing- You need to change the tail to be non-reflective. The "composite" or "primer" look of the Tail on all American Airlines aircraft (including the 727) are FLAT not GLOSS paint, so you shouldn't see any reflection from the top of the fuselage up. The non-specular (non-reflective) surfaces would include the S-Duct, but not the front ring of the inlet, which was chromed, as were the rest of the inlet rings.

Thanks for the input. This is an evolutionary art. Here is a link to a resource shot. Some of the tail is shinny, some isn’t. Would you say this is a fair example of an American Airlines 727 tail? If it is I will modify my repaint to match this as closely as my skill and the textures will allow.

How's this; fine tuning while-you-wait. I tweaked the tail a bit. There is no alpha channel at all on the rear and top of the tail, like on the real plane. And the white bit on the engine is a close match to the research photos I have. This is about as close as it is going to get.

Thanks Ron. I think there might be a Cardinal in my near future hopefully. Is it hard to paint? I know the Piper was tricky.
Besides that I like painting the Beechcraft G18 because no one else is at the moment.

As close to perfect as one can ask. Good job. I like how you added the composite sections there on the engine cowling. Makes it look kinda used. And your metal textures are awsome, alpha channel or not.

Hey. I was just thinkin...the composite on the engine cowling looks more of a light grey than white...ya know what i mean. maybe you should make it that way on your repaint. here is the picture again.

It does look darker in that picture, but look at the sky. It was an overcast day and the light is very soft. I have pictures taken in much harsher light and the composite parts look much brighter. I might let it go like it is; I have it almost ready to upload, which means it would be available later tonight. Hate to put it off much longer.
