Does anyone know how to apply the speed brakes in jet's?
I know I can bring up the panel with the thrust levers on, which is a bit tricky on landing trying to apply those and reverse thrust at the same time, but there must be a keyboard command for it.
Thanks

Look at the key commands in FS. You can find them on your kneeboard in the cockpit. speed brakes are the "/" key and reverse thrust is the "F2" key, once you are at idle.

This is not a direct answer as I am not seated at my FS computer right now...however, you can find a list of all of the commands in the setup menu at the top of your screen. You should be able to scroll through and find something like "Extend Spoilers" or something like that. You can assign a joystick button to this or just use the keyboard command. This menu will help with many other commands that you have never even dreamed of using....
Btw, I think the Spoiler/Speed Break command is the "/" key.
Good Luck,

Thanks both, I am not on my FS computer to try it out, but will give it a go when I get on it.
I checked thru the keyboard commands but nothing was listed, but as you say, it is the 'Extend spoilers' command.
Thanks again

HI,
If you press Shift + "/" the spoilers will be automatically armed for landing so when you touch down they will deploy without you having to touch anything.
Hope that helps.

Does Shift+/ actually work? I always arm them but they never deploy on touch-down...(as you can even see in my sig ;-) )

With some aircraft, a gentle landing (greaser) will not trigger the spoiler to deploy and you'll have to do it yourself. This is not a problem if using the autoland feature as it will set you down as gentle as a brick dropped from 100 feet. In a real plane, the logic for speedbrake/spoiler deploy is much better than in the sim.
