No More Time For Today

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Though we don't really expect anyone to ever reach it, FlightSim.Com does have a daily time limit and apparently you have reached it. Your time will be reset tomorrow (local time, eastern United States). See you then.

Did anyone know there was a time limit? I think this is stupid, and if there's a time limit then why is it so hard to get in and you're always getting that message saying all nodes are busy?

Never seen this before.

I was only connected for about 45 minutes to an hour, trying to get some downloads then when I clicked on a plane for it to download it brought up that message.

The wisest thing to do is not to stay connected for too long. If you can, search for the airplane without connecting and then connect for a couple of minutes just to download it.

That way everyone has a better chance of actually getting something done on this page.

Better, upgrade to First Class Membership and you wll never again see the "nodes" message and no time limit also. :-)

LAST EDITED ON Jan-02-02 AT 10:41AM (EDT)[p]Only one problem with your analogy on searching.

You must be logged in to do a search.. If they opened up the library to searches for a particular plane, panel, scenery, etc..

That may work.. I did notice that Downloads were way down..bigtime, and I still received the Nodes Busy routine...

It does take a little bit of time to get logged in...

EDIT: When I viewed the hot Files for yesterday.. For the 31st.. It showed a small amount of downloads compared to previous days... For Jan 1, it shows the download numbers are right back up there again, so its possible what I viewed yesterday was a glitch, but I did encounter the Nodes Busy both days..

There's been a time limit on FS for quite some time now. It's really not an issue if you download the files you want in a timely manner. Please realize you can start a download then sign-off and the download will continue.

PS; If you're still using dial-up, I highly recommend either DSL or Cable. I've been running cable for the past 3 months (with the exception of the Excite@home screw up) and CAN NEVER GO BACK. Sign up and installation is free and the monthly fee isn't that much more than most dial-up plans. In fact, since I was able to drop my second phone line, the price difference is negligable.

Only one problome about the DSL/CABLE thing. Yes while I am at my uncles he has cable and I love it but back home the only option I have is dial-up so what are you saying? screw everyone who has dial-up and set a 30min time limit because half the people have cable or dsl? Thats the only problome with people. they think that you can either get cable or dsl but for the majority of dial-up users THATS why they are on dial-up. Ok nough bout this.

Now, I didn't say "screw everyone who doesn't have high speed service" did I? My intent was to provide an option someone might not have thought about. THAT's ALL!

Thank you all for giving me other options on how I can DL, I didn't know if any of you knew about this message. Unlike alot of you I'm new at this stuff, I'm usually flying the real things and not having to worry about a download... but that you all for your replies.

I was on and off constantly yesterday and didn't reach the limit. I must have been on for at least 2 hours. You must have been on longer. Or I have a glitch in my username :)
