I'm having great success with all aspects of 2002, with the exeption of three suns in the sky. When looking out of the right and left hand corner views each one has a sun.
I would be loathed to change very much as Im getting 30+ framerates with almost all the sliders on Max.
Anythoughts ???

I'm getting a little over 30 FPS, and everything is maxed out for me as well. I'll have to check on the '3 suns' I have noticed it yet, but I fly SR-71's in night-time periods. But I will see what I can come up with.

Try this when flying.
Turn off the aircraft's lights, all of them, then look to see how many suns are in the sky then.

I was flying the DF737 for FS2k2 and had 2 suns. I couldn't figure out why it happened and I haven't been able to duplicate it. One thing, I did download one of the alternate suns from the ##### forum, maybe that did it.

It's a known bug.
I believe that it's called the "Tatooine Effect"... ;)

Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Man, I could kiss you for posting that! I never thought to turn this one off. I just have, and my frame rates on almost max detail have gone from between 14 and 18 in most situations to between 22 and 30!
Thanks a lot!

AT_CuriousB is correct. Those are not suns you see but rather the lights on the wing tips. When you turn off the panel and look out the left or right sides of the plane you no longer see the bitmaps of the wings but the lights will still appear if they are switched on.

I locked my FS2002 down at 30, otherwise it would be in the 60s or 70s.
Asus P4B
Asus V7700 (GeForce2Ti 64MB)
Intel P4-1.6
1GB RAM
6 UDMA 100 harddisks
50x CDROM
onboard sound (quite good enough to not put in my soundcard).
Running at almost everything maxed out (only max visibility set to 60nm for realism (can't see the edge of the world in real life, can we) and old dynamic scenery turned off.
