Active runway.

How can I change a active runway. When I play a flightplan and start from Amsterdam Schiphol it take most of the time runway 6 but I want to take another runway. I know I can start from a runway I choose but I always start from a gate because I like that but not runway 6. Trie to play it yourself and see what i meen. I am using FS2002.

Are you talking about using the flight planner with fs2k2?

This has been discussed before quite intensily.

You have to change wind-direction and wind-speed.

But as I understand it, the sim will always use the longest rwy.

Yes, the ATC is a problem at EHAM. From the 10 possible runways FS chooses the one that is actually never used for t/o (06), since you have to backtrack to the beginning of 06, which is not very realistic on a field with 5 runways and the fourth busiest in Europe. I hope somebody will someday come up with a patch to be able to choose your own runway, but I guess that will mean a lot of work with all the spoken commands etc.

I had another problem with ATC on this airport. I had to land on runway 06 while the wind was from 230! Is this a bug??

Well it seems that Microsoft programmed FS2K2 so only 1 specific runway is always used, probably easier on the atc and AI aircraft side!
