New vapour trail, well, vorticies caused by airflow over the wings and flaps :-lol

Thats pretty cool. Does it happen all the time or only with a high angle of attack like it should?

It happens when you press "I". You have to have the smoke set to a certain number though....
[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=-900,-22.3,-33.0, fx_contrail_s.fx
smoke.1=-900,-22.3,33.0, fx_contrail_s.fx
Put that in the AIRCRAFT CFG :D

Hey Ashley,
Nice pics, looking pretty good lately. Just a little to add on your topic of vortices.
The wing tip and strake vortices are visualized condensation of ambient water vapor. You may also see this condensation on the upper surface of a wing, or in and around an intake. This condensation is caused by the low pressure on the suction side of the wing and is a clear indication of high lift (low/high pressure).
If the pressure on the suction side is low enough, the partial pressure of the water vapor may be low enough to cause the condensation to be seen.
Such condensation can be seen during situations requiring large lift, e.g., during high-g manuevers or during landings or take-offs. Or it may occur in the pressure wave while transonic.
I have even seen little "tornados" of compressed vapour swirling into the intakes of F-4's and sometimes the F-14 when we were in very humid locations.
Fun to watch!

Thanks for the additional info. I was always confused about what exactly caused those vorticies. I always seem them when I was living under the flight path of runway 23 at Heathrow. The best planes (airliners)to view them on are the 737 and 757 in my opinion...especially in rainy, windy weather :-lol
I know what you mean about seeing the vorticies over the wings as well...I used to see that when the planes were taking off in the rain :)
