View Full Version : Did the programmers go too far?

I was folloeing this AI 777 and it was flying in a straight line. Then it did something very strange. It nose dived into the water, not far from New York City. Now I have heard of UFOs and stuff in fs2002, but did the programmers make it so real as to depict terrorism. I mean it just nose dived and hit the water. Wierd.

Its possible that they made failures effective to AI... or its screwed up and its trying to land at a non-existant airport.. or it missed the airport.... Ive got a Q though.. what happened when and after it hit?

It just dissappeared. I flew past it as it hit, and when I looked back it was gone.

Hmm.. the dissapearing AI thing strikes again... usually happens if theres no parking for the plane.... its a good possibility that it was trying to land at an airport.. and that airport is non-existant... I could be able to clear things up if you tell me where he took off.. then I could check my AI tools to see where he is meant to go...

Well... I don't really know where he took off from. I was buzzing the city and saw him out of the corner of my eye. So I followed him. We flew almost directly over an airport, but when he made his descent after we had passed the airport, he didn't pull up like a normal landing. He just smacked into the ground fast and at the angle in the shots.

Ok.. its a good possibility it probably missed the airport... probably thought it was somewhere else... anyway.. what was the airport you passed then?

No idea. But it was a little north of NYC.

FlyerJeff
03-16-2002, 12:21 AM
Well.. the only airport in that area large enough to have 777s is probably La Guardia.. lemme check.. Ill see if I can find the flight

North. Almost straight north, I'm pretty positive.

Man. this is tough.. Im checking all the Major airports that probably have that route and I havent found a match... yet... next is Miami...

Well.. Ive done all I can.. theres just plain not enough info to research it... if it happens once.. itll happen again.. try seeing it again.. maybe if you set the time back and use the AI tracker gauge.. you might be able to find it...

nah...that eygpt air was a different story. the plane dived (and braked the sound barrier on the way down) from flight level to the sea verticaly. another thing that is quite proven is that the Trust reversers engaged during level flying... in only 1 engine.
some says the pilot wanted to kill himself because they head him say "Aalla Ackbar".

Only one pilot wanted to die ?. Not both ?.....I heard that one of them was getting married in the near future, why would he have wanted to die ?. Why was only one thrust reverser engaged?.

Sir, before I completely destroy your credibility I suggest you read the following NTSB reports that include the flight data recorder information as well as transcripts from the cockpit voice recorder located at this address: http://www.airsafe.com/flt990.htm Mr. Batouty never states "Alla Ackbar" but "Tawakilt ala Allah". Your story about thrust reversers being the cause is yet another internet rumor, as far as your belief that the thrust reversers were open please provide us with your proof, being that according to you "it is quite proven" this should not be an issue. I await your responce in this matter...

If there are no responces backing up your "quite proven" theory please retract your above statement and appologise for spreading yet another internet rumor.

No offence here but I do HATE the spreading internet rumors, especially when they are coming from people that after reading their posts have absolutely no clue what they are talking about...

Have a good evening ; )

Mark

you are probably right...what i said was what i remembered reading long long time ago. the trust reversers was the theroy IF the crash was caused by a technical failure, because eygpt insisted that the pilot did not wanted to kill himself. so i guess it wasn't proven. and you right, he didn't said Alla Ackbar but "Tawakilt ala Allah" which means "i put my trust in Allah.

i did not wanted to spread any rumor at all, and i probably should have clearly mention it. it just what i vaguely remembered

but, without any connection, there was something in the newspaper today (after my post) which talked about a new theroy/findings: the man who was in charge of pilot assigments on the 767's New-York/Los Angels route was going to get Mr. Batouty off this line for inappropraite behaviour. this man's name was Chatam Roshdy and he was on that flight. Mr. Batouty who was the co-pilot, wanted to revenge him so he crashed the plane.

The FAA will publish the final report this week.
