Does anybody know or know of a site that I could check out to see what is the fastest processor my motherboard can handle? I am running an ASUS Intel 810 chipset with a Intel Celeron 766MHz processor with a 370 socket at 100MHz FSB. Level 1 cache at 32k and level 2 cache at 128Kb I'm realy looking for as much power out of my computer as I can. I would get a new motherboard, but i'm not sure what kind of motherboard to get to place inside a Hewlett Packard Pavilion box.
I found a 1 GHZ processor at 100 MHz FSB, level cache at 32k and level 2 cache at 128KB. Could it be possible to use a processor with a level 2 cache at 256KB instead of 128KB which i'm currently using? And would I tell much difference going form a 766MHz to a 1GHz. I would appriciate as much help as I can get.
