It turned into a short stay in Stockholm: truthfully, I couldn’t find a nice hotel with vacancies so I decided to press on – maybe further east?
That sounded good.

I’d enjoyed the flight out of Berlin to Bremen two days earlier, despite the impenetrable darkness and swirling storm-clouds – so, I decided to get myself another Baron and head out…
Finland sounded good at the spur of the moment – I’d never been there either, so I found a lovely, well-kept Baron and filed my plan for a flight to Helsinki.

A few slides were taken to document this leg of my venturesome vacation – I hope someone may enjoy seeing them…

All the while I was in Stockholm, the snow fell. As beautiful as the landscape which stretched out of the city as far as the eye could see. It was snowing when I left, too – there’s something almost magical about flying in a pleasant snow… I’d hoped it would snow lightly all the way to Helsinki, but it didn’t. Not 20 miles out of Stockholm it vanished like so many myriad ghosts…
Still, the flight was beautiful all the same. The Baron proved an exceptionally well maintained plane and gave me the best she had – I was content…

Here then, are a few shots of my journey to Stockholm.
As always – any comments are welcomed and will be appreciated.

Hey! :-)

Hi - & thanks a lot, Jeff… :-)

I was sort of thinkin’ you decided not to comment on any more of my shots…
I always appreciate when anyone does, of course, and try always make a point to let whoever does know I do…
But – it still means a lot to hear the generous comments on shots thought nicely treated, by a pro a/c photographer…

Thanks – really, I do appreciate it… an awfully-lot…

Best to you, as always - :-wave

- Tia

PS – I’ve been enjoying watching your “slide-show-style” ever-shifting Sig. images, too… :-lol ..That’s a neat one!

No, sorry, have not been ignoring you, just posting to some others that I have not been in the past. I like the shots, don't get me wrong, I look at all of them. I myself am not much for stories. I know most everyone does and they blend with the shots very well. Just not my 'cup of tea' so to speak. I guess I am just more of a 'meat and potatoes' person, thus my posts are mainly just pictures, leaving the story to the individual imagination.

I enjoy your pictures and comment on the ones that stand out. keep up the good work, both writing and shooting...I am just lurking around for now!

Thanks for the comments on the 'Sigs'. There are a whole bunch coming in the next few days, and I am going to try not to duplicate them too much.

I've enjoyed following your journey through Europe. I just flew the same route (more or less) over the past few weeks. From Arlanda, I flew the following route: Helsinki, St Petersburg, Moscow, Volgograd, Baku, Ashgabat, Dushanbe and then into Afghanistan. I had runway incursion accidents in St Petersburg (run over by another 747) and Volgograd (Lear on the runway even though I had been cleared to land--I didn't even see it until a second before I hit it) due to ATC errors.

With family and work pressures, I only manage to make about 4-5 flights per weeks, so it takes me a while to actually get anywhere. I plan to make one more stop in Afghanistan and then start a tour of India beginning in the Srinigar, Kashmir (my wife's birthplace).

Keep up the good work.

No, that’s quite all right & I understand how the little narratives won’t appeal to everyone…
I know just what you mean: kind’a reminds me of my old b/f who was in the Corps: he used to always say: “..Nahhh – just tear me off a piece of that cow – you-c’n keep the cake…”

;-)

All your sig. images thus-far have seemed quite unique to me… All very well done – some I like better than others (the “girlie” shots don’t do anything for me) – but is fun looking for the newest one… :-)

My thanks again -

Best –

Tia

Hi Mark! :-)

Wow! That’s so neat!
Sounds like a great course to fly… &nd it sure is pretty near to mine in this stretch.

I almost went to Petersburg, but opted for a straight-run to Moscow instead.
I’m still there actually; but have a 744 fueled and ready to go with a flight plan filed for Tehran.
Hoping I might get airborne this evening sometime…

Ouchies! Bummer about the unfortunate incidents in St. Petersburg and Volgorad…
I’ve had the same thing happen to me a few times, too – no-fun!
Last time was in Istanbul… ( grrrr! )

“I plan to make one more stop in Afghanistan and then start a tour of India beginning in the Srinigar, Kashmir (my wife's birthplace).”

Wow – that sounds really great!
It’d be so nice and enjoyable to see any shots you may get of those travels..!

That’s also very cool you’re going to go check out Kashmir!
I may head that way myself sooner than later…

Thanks again for your very kind comments, and wish you safe and happy flying! :-)

Kindest regards –

Tia
