....are rather peculiar as it prefers to prey on species larger than itself. Commonly called the Apache Mantis, the Araneus Apacheus easily distinguished from the smaller Eurocoptus Civillus also commonly found in North America, not just Europe and Asia. Ah, we have found a large, male, Araneus Apacheus! Shhh...... now, we mustn't startle it....can you see how it's markings blend it into the bushes surrounding..... Ah, a lone and weary Smallus Commutus approaches.......that is ofcourse the Araneus Apacheus's food of choice. The "Apache Mantis" survivie by only eating one of these each week.....now watch as he hides in the bushes.........it's beginning it's pounce!

Watch as it chases the Smallus Commutus! Wow! The Smallus Commutus is trying to flee! Getting below the line of sight of the Araneus Apacheus. The "Apache Mantis has trouble seeing objects near itself, for it has small eyes set infront of it's great pincers. But, once it gets hold of something, it will pack a deadly punch with the poisonous Stingers :-P on each side of itself.
