View Full Version : An Air ‘Journal’ in Images * Fourth Set *

Following my little encounter with the American Consul and German Security in Berlin, I was eager to get out of the city as soon as possible.
I rented a Beech-Baron and filed a late plan and was able to slip out in the dead of night during quite a feisty thunderstorm.
Unfortunately, it was so dark that night, I really didn’t manage any good shots of the flight.

The next morning, having been made aware of a fortuitous window of opportunity by a sick pilot, I volunteered to fly a Delta 737 out of Bremen to Stockholm.
As dawn was breaking, the last of the night’s storm was slowly sweeping past…

The flight went like clockwork and couldn’t have conceivably been any less-eventful. The most interesting part of it – aside from seeing Sweden for the first time – was the rather odd weather.
The last of the storm passed just as I broke above FL240 for FL260.
We arrived in Stockholm with the first glistening snowflakes of a bright December morning’s winter flurry…

As always, it’s hoped someone may enjoy these shots – “plane-Jane” though they are…

Once again Tia, all I can say is wow! I noticed you've recently been taking shots with lots of clouds, I like! :) I especially like the one with the lightning in the distance, a true masterpiece! (you must have been quick to press that print screen button! I've tried but I'm always too slow!!) I'm really enjoying these "journals" you've been posting, so keep 'em coming! Once again, great shots! :)

Very nice pictures! Since I only fly GA I really like your screenshots of the heavies because I'll probably never get around to flying them myself.

Tia,

Another beautiful set...

"couldn’t have conceivably been any less-eventful"

Ok, I see what you mean! :-lol I usually have a good book handy for that kind of flights... :-)

Looking forward to your next set... and the next... and the next... ;-)

Best,
/Björn

Hi Alex… :-)

Thanks! Appreciated as always…

Yeah, the G3 really eliminated the cloud/fps-drag problem, so I’ve been enjoying much more of it with them included… :-)

:-lol ..Yes, sometimes those lightening shots are just “luck” – you have to wait for them with one finger hovering over the PrtScn key a bit… maybe even with those fingers crossed… ;-)
I’m glad you like that shot though and thanks for saying so…

Where have you been hiding lately?
Miss seeing your gorgeous shots here…
Get t’steppin’ guy! ;-)

Really though, I’ve missed not seeing them and hope you’ll have some more for us soon…

Thanks for the Happy New Year wishes returned… :-)

Best, as ever –

Tia

Hi Franken… :-)

Thanks! So nice of you to comment… :-)

I’m still new enough at any civil aviation that I’m still enjoying flying the Heavies now & then, as well…
& I can’t for the life of me decide which I enjoy most!
I think probably the smaller GA, myself, too… Near the scenery, low & slow!

Thanks again, and glad you enjoy some of my shots … :-)

Kind regards -

Tia

Hi Björn!

:-lol ..Yeah!

Thanks, very much…
Uh-huh – I needed a good book for that flight I can say – turned out I was left reading everything scratched in ink or LED in the cockpit the whole way… ;-)

Ditto on anticipating next shots – yours! ;-)

Best as ever -

Tia
