hey, i have a laptop, but i noticed in the systems requirments for CFS3 tha you need a 16 bit graphics card. as far as i understant, my laptop doesn't have a graphics card, and can't get one. it uses shared ram to run it's graphics. FS2K2 runs pretty well, and im just wondering if anyone thinks CFS3 will run on my laptop. it's a KDS Vailant 6150. Pentium III with 120 MB of ram. any one know?

It is extremely unlikely.

It will run, but it will most likely be completely unflyable. Your processor is marginal at best for any intensive apps, your RAM is way way too low for RAM hogging apps like CFS3/FS2002 and I assume that you are running Windows XP or Windows 2000 Pro, both of which are farily taxing OS's when it comes to RAM consumption. On top of your shared video memory which is stealing 16-32MB of RAM for video already, I probably wouldn't even bother installing it.

Think you've got computer problems? You haven't until you've installed the latest version of FS!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-14-03 AT 09:40AM (EST)[p]You can fly CFS3 on your laptop quite easily. Here's how.

Secure the CFS3 packaging to your laptop using sticky tape, stand on the roof of a tall building and throw laptop with CFS3 off the roof. No stutters guaranteed although flight time will be limited and will almost certainly result in a crash....just like on my PC!!!

it will run on mine, quite well actually. i run a radeon mobility 9000 with a good 64mbs of dedicated memory (ddr infact), which goes good with the p4 2.4 ghz processor and 256mb ddr mem (which i intend to upgrade as soon as possible).

i bought it from a company called mtech (www.mtechlaptops.com), though i think they were actually manufactured by some company in tiwan, because i found about 10 other companies that sold a computer that looked exactly like it.

first rule when buying any laptop, make sure it has a good video chipset, otherwise you will be stuck running solitare. if you dont see nvidia or ati's logo, dont buy it.

Don't try man, don't waste yer time.

I'm running CSF3 on the laptop - Toshiba Satellite P26-S-603: P4 3KHZ, 1GB RAM, GEForce 5400 64 MB and I still have to use "medium" settings, maybe slightly over medium...

But it runs smooth enough....

I vote for NVidia.
ATI - Sucks big time.
