I'm a long time FS simmer and I have CFS2. I have not bought CFS3 up to this point because I was a little disappointed in CFS2. I am considering CFS3 now depending on what answers I get.

My disappointment with CFS2 was the fact that I could easily sink a ship with a machine gun. I would riddle the ship and it would blow up and be gone. One hit from a bomb or rocket and it vaporized. Same with ground targets, any kind of hit and they were gone. Also, when I hit other planes, they would smoke, but until I put them down, they did not seem to suffer and control problems.

Has the damage to targets been made any more realistic in CFS3?

Anxious to hear some comments.

Thanks.

Hello,

I recently purchased CFS3 and I think that it is a huge step ahead of CFS2, even though it does have some setbacks, almost all of them discussed in this forum. Target damage has greatly improved though. Now, when you get a few shots in on an enemy aircraft, it does start to loose control. An enemy can crash, in my own experiences, three minutes after the last time I shot at it! Also, with the ground targets, there may be twenty buildings all designated under one target so you could do two passes without killing everything.

Finally, for the ships. There are a lot of different types of ships; cargo (6 rockets to kill or a heck of a lot of Typhoon Cannon Rounds), Destroyer (12 Rockets, if you can carry that many, plus a lot of rounds), and then finally, Cruiser (it takes a whole flight of aircraft rockets to destroy, not to mention all your rounds! This ship just doesn't want to die!).

Overall, I really like this game, especially with all the tweaks found in this forum and I would defenitly recommend it if you have a good system.

Hope to see you in the skys!
