1) Yes. I got the ATP from All ATPs in Dallas/FW.

I was based at Little Rock AFB at the time. I took a few days and went down for the Airline 6 point prep. With my military background, the course was fairly easy. The money spent was well worth it.
2) United's dispatchers are based at UAL WHQ in Elk Grove, IL.

Check out the All ATPs site and find out which program suits you. I know folks who did it the hard way (bought the book and studied their a-- off). Believe me, the All ATPs way is the way to go.

I don't recall MS stating anything about a FS2002 patch. Could be wrong, but I think they feel FS2002 is good enough as is (and I tend to agree - with minor exception).

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, now I'm motivated to reinstall CFS3.

That was the only game I ever uninstalled and put away in frustration, I never had a problem with FS2002, and even FS2000 after it was patched.

I've personally never seen a need for an FS2002 patch, there's no issue big enough to really warrant that and I'd rather see Microsoft focusing on FS2004 and on REAL problems like CFS3.

I uninstalled CFS3 reluctantly because all I could think about was that it had SO much potential... but I truly felt like I'd paid $50 for a beta, and that I'd never see that potential until (POSSIBLY) I built my next machine in a couple years.

In fact, I'm going to go reinstall it right now, despite the glitches, because now there's hope!

Come on... It's a bit naive to think that this means Microsoft 'care'. The only reason this is happening is because Il-2 made CFS3 look like 'Aces Over Europe', and Forgotten Battles is going to really turn the knife. They released a shoddy piece of work and are getting punished for it, and this is little more than damage control.

I noted with interest the number of replys to Dave's post here and in the FS2002 forum! 1 to 5 ratio!!

Do you think that MS is testing out concepts and design changes for the next release of their FS200X Series?

Since the Combat Flight Sim's have a much smaller audience, it seems reasonable they would test these things in CFS vice FS200X.

Actually, my gut instinct would say that the CFS audience is probably FAR larger than the FS crowd, but that's just a gut instinct conclusion there...

The FS2002 forum seems to have become the "Well MY opinion is worth more than YOURS" forum lately - the larger reply count in that thread just seems to be an extension of that...

But enough on that - you bring up an interesting point there because on one hand CFS probably sells a lot more copies than FS, but on the other FS is the "flagship" offering in that genre, the pinnacle of Microsofts technical achievement, so maybe they WOULD use CFS as the testbed for new methods...

Then again, if CFS IS the bigger seller then this would seem to be kind of crazy - assuming my gut instinct is right about that.

Assuming CFS is the bigger seller, could it be possible that Microsoft actually cares enough about FS to risk CFS's reputation by using it as a testbed?

And I have no idea which one really sells more, it would just seem that CFS would have more of a "mass appeal" to the public than FS - but I don't know...

Does anyone have any hard statistics on that one?

I don't know which is selling more but I see CFS3 at reduced price right now at Costco for $29 and FS still hanging in there at $70.
