Hello all!

I'm new to the forums and to Flight simmimg in general. My questions are based on the subject: Any problem having more than one sim installed on the same computer? My brother-in-law likes the European theater, but I'm a Corsair fan, or just like to learn to fly around, see the hometown, etc.

My system:
Athlon 1800 XP
ATI Raedon 7500
256 MB DDR333 RAM
80 GB Maxtor ATA 133 Drive (Main)
2-40GB Maxtor ATA 133's on a RAID 0 Stripe set (For Sim installation)

I gather that CFS3 is having a good deal more problems that it's older brother, but thta some are doing just fine... I'll take any advice I can get.

You should have no problems at all. I have CFS1 and 2, FS2000, and 2002 all installed, and each one runs just fine. Mine are all installed in the default folder.

I've never had any problems with having more than one sim.

But... you need to make sure there's still some disk space left over after the installation or else you might get slow performance

LAST EDITED ON Dec-09-02 AT 07:03PM (EST)[p]Generally having more than one flightsim on your computer will not cause any problems since they are in separate folders. However, it is the addition of different Windows operating files each flightsim loads that could cause problems.

CFS3 added DirectX8.2 automatically when the flightsim was installed. This has caused some problems with individuals using multiplayer in fs2002. Some workarounds have been posted to this and the fs2002 forum.

Hi there people, I also read, can't remember where that if you
install CFS-3 and have CFS-2, there is some kind of "cock up"
regarding multiplayer via The Zone when playing CFS-2. Something
to do with DX I recall.
