Changing screen size and colour settings

LAST EDITED ON Nov-28-02 AT 07:15PM (EST)[p]I am often finding when going to play CFS3 that the screen resolution and colour settings have changed, even though I have done nothing to change them.

Also, sometimes, I boot up, and can't get past the splash screen, but if I go to the CFS3 config and change back to the default settings, it works again.

Very strange, anybody else have these problems or a fix?

I have also had the resolution change on me, its just been a minor headache considering the others. The only thing that I can suggest is latest video drivers for you card. Things were getting a little funky after a while so I un/re installed the game. The latest qwirk is a purple and yellow grass at the flying field(menu screen), it goes away after i return to menu screen after flying.

I've had this problem too, except rather than using the latest drivers, I switched to using old (30.82 for my GeForce 2 DDR) and that made things better. Still utter pants mind you, but at least not entirely unplayable as before.

I was using 40.72 drivers in my Geforce 3. Because of this problem of changing res and screen size, and a few other screen glitches now and again,I have now installed the 30.82's.

Will try them out and let you know if the problems are cured.

No good I'm afraid, just turned on CFS3 for the first time since installing the 30.82's and the screen had gone down to 16bit colours and a completely different resolution.

Back to the drawing board!
