I have not been able to find any reference to a mission builder in CFS3, which is a departure from CFS2 and possibly from CFS1. However, I have found some elements of a mission builder buried in the folders of the game itself. These elements are in the "mb" directory of the "uires" directory of CFS3. For most installations of the game, the path would be:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\uires\mb

If you look in the mb directory, it becomes apparent that mb stands for mission builder. Many of the images in this directory would be used in a mission builder. The most convincing examples are the cursors that are in the mb directory. They are images like a ship with an arrow above it, a truck with an arrow above it, and a cursor that looks like an aircraft.

Since I can't find anything in the documentation about a mission builder, I'm either really missing something or the mission builder is hidden. In CFS2, the mission builder was actually in the game itself, but it could only be launched when certain parameters were sent when the game is launched. It was something like, "cfs2.exe -missionbuilder".

Does anyone have more info about a mission builder in CFS3?

apparently one will be released for download next year, but currently you have to build missions using XML programming. there is some brief mention on it at the simhq.com cfs3 forum.
