How in the world do I open .air files for FS2004? I have Abacus's free FDE, but it needs to be the main FS2002 directory,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I've tried fooling it into thinking it was FS2002 by copying over the FS2002.exe, but no go.
Any help?
Thanks,
Kyle

Download the Flight Model Workbook form http://www.mudpond.us/ (requires Excel). Takes some time to get used to, but creates amazingly accurate air-files. ;)
Hello,
better go to:
Air File Editors
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/fsairfile.html
Air File Board, post March 2003
http://www.avhistory.org/scripts/MegaBBS/logon.asp
and the board gives great support.
FAQ1: How do I model aircraft in MS flight simulators.
FAA1:
Most people in this board are rather long time sufferers of the MS empire and have been hacking .air files etc and can't remember how the hell we started.
OK, Jerry Beckwith does a 1% design SS for CFS 3 which is closely related to FS2K2 so that would be an easier place to start. We don't have a FAQ or book as we spend most of out time discussing how to code the air files using editing tools like AirUpdate and ASFD tool to read internal variables.
My initial advice is to please study the following:
