I notice a lot of the best repaints have no mip maps. I cant work out how to remove these. Can somebody tell me how. I have Imagetool, DXTBMP, Photoshop etc. I usually use 16 bit 555, but I dont really know why. I think it is because the first aircraft I repainted was saved in this format! I notice that the flight simulator 2002 aircraft are saved in DXT3 and for some aircraft I would use this so that I can add alpha channel.

1. Using Imagetool.exe, open an image with MIPs.
2. On the Menu Bar click on Image, then at the bottom of that menu click on Extract MipMaps.
3. Delete the ones you don't want and then save the one you do want.

This method was used to remove the extra blurryness in default textures. My textures are better but not 100% sharp. How many mipmaps do I need to leave (I left 1).

Sorry - this is probably a really silly question, but how do I delete the mipmaps after I have extracted them? There isnt a 'delete' option on the menu bar, and you dont seem able to right-click on them.

Once you extract the mip maps, save the original texture. As for the remaining extracted mip maps, "close" them by clicking on the upper right "x", and don't save on closing..... So, technically, you don't delete them, you just don't save them..:)
