I am looking for some suggestions for a cheap video card. I have a fairly old system, so I suspect I will just drop a little cash to keep it going then get a new system in the next couple of years to run Vista.
Currently have Dell Dimension 4600 with P4 2.8GHz, 1.5GB RAM and NVIDIA FX5200 128mb video card.
Looking to spend about $100-150 bucks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Im guessing you only have an AGP port (usually brown in color)
if so, try this:

Try a FX6200.I replaced my old Ti4200 for a FX6200, and now I get all the stunning effects of FSX, despite of some decrease in fps.

I second the 7600GS. It is a decent midrange card and will perform well for the price.

Can you see a big difference between DDR, DDR2, and DD3? What sort of improvement could I expect with a 512mb vs. 256mb card? Think it is worth the extra cash?
And yes, have a AGP slot.
Thanks, Erik

I'm in a similar situation. Have a 2-year old computer I'd like to use for FSX.
Specs are: Dell Dimension 8400 with P4 3.4GHz, 1Gb RAM and X300 128mb video card (PCI-E)
I understanding there may be different recommendations for us based on our different card interface (AGP vs. PCI-e) but I am considering an X850 XT. I see these sell off Ebay (new-in-box) for ~$100.
I've read the X850 XT would be better than a 7600GS (or 7600GT). Any comments?
Thanks,
Brandon
