6600 GT

I got my xfx 6600 GT video card today, installed it and fired up fs2004. Wow what a total improvement. My frame rates do not go below 10... I now need to know how to get more frame rates.. anybody have any ideas? I have a AMD64 3200 and 1 gig of ram so I beleive I am good there, know of any tweaks in FS9? I would recommend this card to anybody, who doesnt want to spend up to 400 dollars.

What have you done so far? I wouldn't want to list a bunch of stuff you may already know ;-)

My first guess with those framerates and that rig is that you may be running to much AA and AF.

Obviously all sliders too the right will keep framerates down.

maybe need to reduce the sliders in the clouds dialogue.

After this, have a look at the AVSIM forums. there is a whole section there on tips and tweaks.

Just another thought. Download and run a driver cleaner if you have not already doen so and re-install your graphics card driver. Also delete the FS9.CFG (and back up) and allow FS to run. It will create a new clean FS9.CFG.
